What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hello, I remember reading this book somewhere between 2008/10..but I think it was published before that as I remember the book itself was a pretty worn out paperback. I don't remember what th cover looked like, but what I remember of the story is that there were 2 friends, both girls, one of whom wore a "loud pink sweater" at one point. I believe the setting was London or England...not sure which it was or if it was either but I know it was set in Europe. All I remember of their adventure was that they were looking for fairies or something, and they happened across some kind of fae dance circle..? And that there was a hill or a clearing of some sort where they either found a tunnel or some sort of stone doorway/formation that may have had some writing on it. The events that I lost from my memory did not exactly occur in that order.
Near the end there was a male/prince fairie, there was some magic involved and I think they ended up at a faerie ball.

I would be thankful if anyone recognizes the description of this novel. It was really interesting for me to read and I hope someone will be able to help me find the title. Thank you!

Was this book for adults, teens, or children?

From what i remember of it, I'm pretty sure it was more of a children's/middle grade kind of book. That and I found it in my sixth grade classroom
