This series made my top ten best books this year. I finished installment #5 right before Christmas and am impatiently waiting for the last one.
My next IR is gonna be

Haven't really gotten into it yet, but plan to today since I'm off. I'm also doing

And that's why I started skipping books that have multiple parts. I am trying to wait until the author finished a series before starting to read because I hate waiting a long time in between books. I lose some connection to the characters like that and I generally don't make time to go back and re-read books.

But the storyline in the Sharing Space series is really good. Reading it was like having an episode of a TV show that I could get lost in and look forward to the continuation. :)

And that's why I starte..."
I completely agree Connie.I'm staying away from books that are part of a series and don't currently have at least a book 2. Waiting so long for some of these books to come out you forget things that happen and sometimes the story doesn't capture you because of that.

I feel the same way. But then I just had to go and get the first one of this one and i completely sucked in. Luckily I started this series when she already have 5 of the 6 installments written, so I didn't have the wait times. The last installment is due in a coupla weeks.
i tried it before with Kyra Davis' series but I never got sucked into that one.

I thought Bevin from Trolling Nights was bad but never have I read about a more unlikable heroine than Ivy! I hate reading a book and wanting the H/h to end up with someone else. There are so many things wrong with this book and it starts with Ivy. I dislike Ivy so much that I almost feel like the author betrayed me and let the hero end up with the other woman instead of the true heroine.(that is weird I know).

LOL waiting is just the worse part that is why I always hope to find a book late so that I can get to read the books back to back. Best feeling ever! lol

I have that one, and haven't read it yet. I seem to be on a roll with heroines that I don't care for. I'll have to move that one up in my tbr list.

Hell, I'm just glad to know somebody else hated Bevin's ass. LOL
I've permanently denounced Latrivia Nelson, so I'm in no danger of being provoked by this. But your post sure made me laugh lol.

@ Savannah I think compared to Ivy.....hmmm never mind I still wouldn't like Bevin. (was going to say something then thought better of it)LOL
I don't know how bad Bevin was for you, but if on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being "hate" then Ivy would break the scale.

Ren, I remember this book. I did like the story, but she was a little too Erica Kane. But just like a soap opera, I had to keep going until I found out what happened. In all honesty all of them weren't all that likable. I actually liked the Asian stripper better than anyone.
@Savannah - You crack me up as usual. Lol

Not a sentence I'd of guessed I'd read when I woke up this morning, Pagan. Thanks. LOL

Bevin was tempered by the fact that Tim was so swoon worthy. He kept me distracted by his fineosity and allowed me to finish the book thinking of his happiness vs. hers. Bevin was like a 12 year old walking around in a grown woman's body. Seriously, when she ran home to mommy and daddy and had MY boy Tim sitting in her damn parent's hallway for days on end? Umm, no. Just, hell no. What kind of childish nonsense is that, even for fiction? Ugh. Her dependency on her parents, and the fact that she ate up 9 miles of her roommates ish and practically begged for more just made her one step shy of an abomination as a heroine to me. My enjoyment of the book was PURELY about the writing for Tim and a testament to how Frierson managed to nail his character as a romantic lead. Because if he was anybody but him, Bevin would have had me DNF'ing the hell out of that book.

Oh the pressure! I would characterize this as more Urban Fantasy than PNR. Darker in tone than PNR and the romance for Alex and Michael runs throughout the series. But I did enjoy it a lot.

No worries. I figured it might be a little lacking in the romance department just from your break down. Hence, I'm keeping a couple of others going at the same time to get my relationship fix.

Hahaha yes! I just don't understand the 5 stars that it is given.
@Savannah I stopped reading a few pages after that. I couldn't take it....so I skimmed the rest and moved on. Probably that is why Ivy made me remember Bevin. She had the man running in circles except Ivy is worse. Smh

I should have done the same. I find myself wishing I could re-read it with just Tim's parts though. He was a pretty stellar lead.

I just finished it! Nice ending.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series! I'm looking forward to future projects by Nina Perez. :)

I found myself wondering what the heck am I reading!! I don't understand why it has so many 5 stars. I refuse to say anything further because it will not be nice.

She lost me in the synopsis. Double whammy of food skin and hazel eyes.

Oh, yeah, I saw that and immediately passed. The blurb turned me off. Too much information (who cares what the name of the employment agency is?), food skin and a typo.

I actually did the same thing as the both of you but curiosity got the best of me. I really wanted to know what the "WOW" and "Great" was all about. It's a disgrace that people even like that book. The story is just horribly written.

I've noticed this a LOT lately-the damn near full chapter synopsis thing. TMI, overkill and trying way to hard to set up the story. Less is sometimes the difference between earning a few bucks and losing a sale by proving its awful before a reader gets pulled in by the cover or blurb.LOL
Ren- I've been there, done that. I swear I just near 'bout threw my Nook across the room because I told myself to give this Marie Rochelle book, My Deepest Love: Zack another chance. I really need a file marked "TRUST YOURSELF" because if I DNF'd it once, I sometimes go back thinking I was just in a bad mood or something. Errr, no. It was bad. It was bad in ways that defy explanation. Too many stupid, inconsequential details, and the dialog. Uuuugh, the dialog. I'm not sure why some "writers" seem to think that making their characters speak more formally than the average American is the way to make a book good. If you can say it out loud or in your head and it sounds stilted, ridiculous or otherwise lame-it is. Book was downright rife with that crap.

rofl! Me too.

"She has flawless caramel colored skin and the most amazing hazel eyes he has ever seen."
In short, Beyonce/Halle 10.0. No, there's no way a man of another race could EVER be attracted to a darker-skinned Black woman. The fact that way too many Black female authors reinforce this is highly troublesome.

My thing with the descriptions that get me is the hair. Why do all of them have to have the whorl spirals? I, myself tend to sport the close cropped style meaning I visit the barber and not the beautician. There is a co-worker that I know who has alopecia and not a stitch of hair anywhere on her head, but I tell you, I think that she is just beautiful because of the way she carries herself and her personality defies what we call standard beauty.
Or the blushing, I don't understand. Authors say the heroines are dark skinned, but the hero or others can see her blushing. I don't get it. I've never seen the blush of a dark person. Doesn't mean they don't do it, I've just never seen it.

That makes more sense. :)

The blushing drives me nuts in some of these books! An Escape to Love had a heroine who was described as ebony, but every single time she blushed (and she blushed a lot!) she turned pink! Huh - how that happen? I don't understand why some African-American authors insist on giving Caucasian characteristics to their heroines when they know better. Enough already!

Interesting thing is, I get more attention from men of different races with my fade than I ever did with all the torture I used to put it through. A pair of silver hoops, some red lipstick and I'm out the door.

That's what I'm saying Ms. Diva! When I went to the beauty salon and I told the lady to cut it all off, she kept trying to talk me out of it. It has been great as far as the exercise is concerned because I don't have to worry about sweating it out since I'm not pretty when I exercise. It's all about the sweat and tears. :). That is, when I do go. LoL!
My husband likes it, and I do get a lot more compliments now than I ever have before. Like you said, a little lipstick, I add mascara, some silver hoops and I'm good to go. :) It saves on the time factor as well. I don't have a lot of time or inclination to sit in front of a mirror and get myself together. Hair has never enhanced my appearance, personally.
