Indirectly, yes it was Nine's fault because Nine taunted Five, causing Five to attack Nine (Nine knew Five would certainly come after him for that). Did Nine have any idea that Eight would jump between them and get killed instead? No.

It is really but i think he was taunting him so he would get away from the others and confront him giving 7 a chance to heal the others and get away. No one knew that 8 would jump in the way why he did push the blade out of his hand telenetically? I will not now but i do think one of them dying adds the the plot.

I agree you should be angry 7 did point it out that maybe they could have talked him out of it. I for one do not believe that i can see that 5 would not want to hurt 7 or 8, but for 9 and six it was a sure thing he wanted them dead. You will get your wish because i know 7 will take her grief out on 9 maybe 6 too.

I disagree. Eight's moves are rash, spontaneous and especially risky. It's the second time he gets severely wounded (well he dies this time) and I think the situation could have ended with Eight alive. Eight could have teleported himself behind Five instead of in front of him, and grabbing/taking Five with him Eight just had to teleport to another place and drop Five to teleport himself back to the others. Et voilà!

absolutely. five was surrendering and nine got him angry again while he himself is lying there helpless...

It honestly is nines fault you could obviously see that nine gets underneath five's skin and if he hadn't opened his big mouth the others would of had at least some time to reason with five, or gotten to escape

I'm sure this topic will play a big part in the next book... Possibly even making Nine temporarily leave the group due to guilt or Marina hating him so much.
