Her "Mortal Instruments" series was interesting. I haven't read the last book yet. It includes, vampires, werewolves, witches, and psychics.

It's another books that is waiting patiently on the shelf of my to-read bookcase. I mean it, I literally have an entire bookcase dedicated to books I need to read! LOL

Melissa I heard she's going to write a sort of prequel to this series, next. It will be towards the beginning of the shadowhunters.

Really? A prequel might be interesting!

message 4: by Melissa (new)

Melissa She's calling the series The Infernal Devices. The website describes the "world" if you want to check it out. It's like the late 1800's and it's still starring teen shadowhunters.

message 5: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy I found this series to be a lot of fun to read. What was the wizard/warlocks name? He was such a character. I did picture him to be this big broad type of a man but then I realized after looking at her website that he's just a teenager. *sigh* oh well, the good things about books is that you can imagine the characters the way you want to.

message 6: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Are you thinking of Magnus Bane? He's really old though, but looks like a teenager.

message 7: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Yeah he is! But Magnus Bane is going to be in the prequel series she is writing, so that will be interesting.

message 8: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy Yes I was thinking of Magnus Bane. I know he'rea really old and looks like a teenager but whenever I read the series I always imagine him in my mind to look a lot older.

Hmmm...I know what you mean. It can be hard to think of him as really young looking. I know he is descirbed that way, but I keep wanting to think of him in his late twenties/early thirties as far as looks go...

Chasidy YES! That's exactly how I imagine him. Mid to late twenties. :) Sort of like a Jenson Ackles who dresses up with lots of glitter. LOL!

I'm not sure Jensen Ackles and glitter belong in the same sentence. LMAO! Jensen is too masculine for glitter. He's dreamy. He's my all time celebrity crush.

Chasidy You're right, Jenson is too dreamy. I just saw a photo of him and he was the first person to come to mind. Any ideas on which actor would portray Magnus? My all time celebrity crush is Gerard Butler!! *sighs*

I could kind of see "Kerr Smith" playing Magnus...Not sure of anyone else off the top of my head...

message 14: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy Haha, OMG you are so right on! Kerr Smith would totally do Magnus Bane justice.

He was the actor that immediately came to mind. He is actually a good actor, and he would fit the role well. :)

Chasidy What was Kerr Smith in?

He was Jack from Dawson's Creek, he was on CSI:NY for like 4 episodes, a few episodes of Eli Stone, My Bloody Valentine, and a few episodes of Charmed.

message 18: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy That's right, Jack from Dawson's Creek. I use to love that show. Joy, you were so right on the spot with that one. :)

Thanks! :) I wouldn't have a clue who should play Jace though...

message 20: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy Jace, hmm... no clue either. All the guys Im thinking of either looks to young or aren't edgy enough. I figure the girl, not Clary the other one, to be someone similar to Eliza Dushku(sp?)[Dollhouse:] just a little younger looking you know? Oh wait, or that girl in Smallville. I cant think of her name.

I was thinking about Jace and I think that Craig Horner would do him justice. He has the wrong colored hair, but put some blonde highlights in and he would be perfect! :)

:) Now all we need is someone to make the darn film/series! LOL

message 24: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy I know! You know how many books there are that I just WISH someone would turn into a movie or series? A LOT! The only problem is, is that I know it wouldn't do the books justice. :(

Chasidy Clare sold the movie rights? Well, if they do have a movie I hope it's worth my $8.50.

As a rule, I always see movies that are based on books I like. I usually get more excited about those. :) It'll probably be worth $8.50. LOL My theater only costs $5. Ha! LOL

message 29: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy $5.00! OMG, I hate that everything is soooo expensive where I live. :(

Where I used to live, the theater was almost $10 per ticket! I was so relieved when I found this theater after moving. :) It is so much more affordable. :)

message 31: by Emily (new)

Emily | 45 comments I just hope the movie actually follows the plot, unlike Percy Jackson, but you guys are so lucky! My tickets are usually $10 or more.

message 32: by Michael (new)

Michael Pang (michaelpang) | 6 comments Too bad the movies was done so poorly (I still blame most of it on the casting...). But I heard they were going to remake it as a TV series! So...I'm looking forward to that!

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) Loved "The Infernal Devices," and "The Mortal Instruments" are on my T.B.R. List for this fall. Clare is a great writer, and her Downworld is so neat!
