On your second list, omg, omg omg! I've read books or stories by everyone on there except for Allan Leverone. Those are all great authors. For your Laird Barron read, may I humbly recommend The Light is the Darkness? And for Thomas Tryon, Harvest Home or The Other?

message 6: by Kate (new)

Kate | 3525 comments I'd like to read both The Light is the Darkness and The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All.

I have Harvest Home so that will definitely be my Tryon read. :)

Char | 17459 comments Let me ask you this...when you get close to reading The Beautiful Thing, would you let me know? I have that one and want to read it as well. I think we might enjoy doing a buddy read of it together.

And YAY! re: HH :)

message 10: by Anthony (new)

Anthony Hains | 140 comments Kate: For what it's worth, The Other by Tryon is one of my all time favorites. I hope you enjoy when it reaches the top of your TBR list. Something Wicked... by Bradbury is a classic too.

Kate | 3525 comments Thanks Anthony, at the moment I only have Harvest Home but am hoping for a price drop for The Other so I can grab that as well.

message 12: by Sean (new)

Sean (doccrab) | 70 comments Harvest Home was a great read. It is definitely one of the creepiest books that I have ever read. Let me know what you think about it.

the castle is really good but it would have been better with 100 pages cut from the end. The Painted bird is very very good.
