Must catch up with this - I still haven't started part 2 yet!

Am I the only one that's finished reading this?

I'm just over half way through.

I couldn't get hold of a copy so am sitting this one out :(

I managed to get hold of a copy on Amazon for 1p....except I had to pay £2.50 delivery charges.

I finished this last night and have to say I found it, for the most part, very tedious; I couldn't wait to get to the last page. The concept is great and there are some excellent insights into human existence from a Martian perspective. However, the sexism really irritated me along with the constant put downs about women and the continuous references to sexual freedom, (so long as it involved a man and a woman or two women of course). I'm really not surprised that it was first published with 10,000 words less as there were some sections that were quite superfluous and distracting.

I think that Lee had a great idea for someone to rewrite it and bring it up to date and it could also be a great film, but the book as it currently stands, only gets two stars from me I'm afraid.
