Sean McLachlan | 52 comments Hi everyone, I decided to create a poll since we don't have any. This asks what front you're most interested in BESIDES the Western Front, which I think 90% of us would vote for!
There could be much lumping and splitting of the categories, but I think it covers everything pretty well.
I voted for the Eastern Front, btw.

Sean McLachlan | 52 comments Yeah, it's not really a front but I put it in the poll anyway.

Sean McLachlan | 52 comments Terry,

We really need a good general history of the Civil War in Florida! Perhaps you could write one?
Oh, and everyone please click on the poll on the upper right hand corner of your screen so the system will tally your answers.

I am afraid there were very few Civil War battles actually fought in Florida, and all of them were in the northern part of the state. Florida really did not get going until after the war, with many folks from Georgia coming here to make a fresh start after Sherman's march devastated that state. Civil War is not my cup of tea, and the only books I have read are the series by Sharra, father & son. If I am ever lucky enough to finish a manuscript, it will be a novel based on WW I aviation.

Sean McLachlan | 52 comments Ah, but there was some interesting Unionist guerrilla action on the northwest coast, plus all the political shenanigans. A good book is waiting in there. Of course, there's plenty more to write about WWI aviation too!

James | 14 comments The War in East Africa and South West Africa. Selous, KMS Konigsberg, Vorbeck, Lake Tangineka, Spicer- Simpson, not to mention the stunning yet foreboding African wildlife, the campaign reads like a boys own adventure despite it's tragedy.

Here are my favourites on the subject Tip and Run by Edward Paice and The Great War in Africa 1914-1918 by Byron Farwell
