Sara Hubachek Gabrielson it is a frightenly scary book about a woman who develops a fear....of herself. how do u turn and run from a situation like that? what is even more disturbing about the book is how she got the phobia. unnatural. it also takes a look at the people we so easily trust to help us in our time of need and how we let them in our lives and the damage that can be caused when the judement of a character is lacking. if you were paranoid about the goverment and mind control games i wouldn't suggest this book. otherwise i would say go for it. keeps you at the edge of your seat

Jenn I had to quit reading this book. It was too real. One of my worst fears is people that we are supposed to be able to trust using their position to hurt others. It is well written, but it was a little to realistic for me to keep reading.

Tamara I couldn't finish this book because the idea of someone tampering with my mind without me realizing it was really terrifying.

Scot That's exactly why this book was so powerful to me--it's based in a world where this could happen. Really frightening stuff, and Koontz's distrust/dislike of psychology really comes through. Scary, but good.

meri Yeah! Scary but good. I coudn't put it down. The novel fascinated me...at the same time scaring me out of my wits. What if tampering with somebody else's mind is possible? What if?...

Bukky I really enjoyed the book, the theme and ideas was really scary but I didn't mind. And then such quotes as "Action, shaped by intelligence and a moral perspective is the answer to most problems" and such others also spiced it up.The Haiku's were so great,I've started composing some.

Genesis Rogers-Lewis This book scared the crap out of me. The thought of how easily your mind could be invaided and molded then controlled just makes my skin crawl. @Bukky I also enjoyed the Haiku's. Keep up the writing:)

William Malmborg I remember really liking this one. I read it on Christmas about a year after it was published I believe -- my little brother gave it to me and I just couldn't put it down. It's been so long, though, I think I will read it again soon to refresh it in my mind.

Hil Like everyone else, I remember this book scaring me so much I almost had to stop reading it. I don't get that with many of his books tbh.

David McGowan Like others, I haven't read this book for a long time. I'll have to revisit it at some point though, because I thought it was one of his best. Definitely very real!

Becky I thought this book was great !!

Angela I find the best part of this book is how realistic it was. Really what I was looking for. It was a real page turner. I have been desperately looking for a book like this to keep me on the edge. Any recommendations for something as scary and "nerve racking" as Kyle said? (:

Tammy One of the better stories I've read in a while! Would recommend!

Have you tried Thr3e or Adam?

Laurie West Absolutely thrilling! Captivationg! I enjoyed every minute of it.

Bree Van der kamp Hands down, my favorite Dean Koontz novels! I'm not really a fan of his other works... It was scary to know that someone can manipulate you like that though... I wonder if it can really happen the way he wrote it...

Katherine Devereux This novel has reminded me to trust myself ..... everyone else is simply a visitor. That a therapist would thwart their skills to twist people into slaves is very real and thought provoking.

Sunsette Another great book by Koontz! The Door to December was the one that got me hooked on his writing. I read it years ago & would love to read it again. As for being brainwashed...a terrifying thought, but it happens everyday! Cults are a good example. What made this book so believable is the fact that it isn't outside the realm of possibility. Hypnotism is dangerous, and if you plant a suggestive seed in someones mind, there is no telling what it might grow into.
