Sandra | Totally off topic here, but I just noticed that the 50BookPledge site does not recognize other versions of the featured read. I had to remove the book version I had read and add the other version in order to receive the Featured Read Badge. Is this normal? Or is it a glitch? I think Reconstructing Amelia was one of the first books I read this year and couldn't figure out why I didn't get the badge, lol. "
Sandra: Totally off topic here, but I just noticed that t..."Hi Sandra! Any edition of the book, regardless of format, cover, (etc), will count towards the Featured Read badge. There was a slight issue with Reconstructing Amelia's ISBNs, which is why you didn't originally receive your badge, but we have gone in and corrected the issue.

I have noticed than when I type my review of a book on the site, that I am only able to type about 4 lines before I am cut off. Is this a glitch or are we only allowed so many words? Some books deserve a longer review, in my opinion anyway.

It's a separate site which is similar to Goodreads. They give you badges when you complete 25, 50, etc. It's a virtual bookshelf for read and to read books. Click on Group home for this group for more info. Hope this helps. I'm having a lot of fun so far with this group.

I am not able to add the books I have read on the 50bookpledge website. It's says I have 0 read books
simera - when you are in the site, did you go into 'my shelves', then click on the 'read shelf' to add your completed books?

hi there!i just added a new book to my 'read' shelf. it was only a 2-star read for me, which is a shame...but these things happen. :)
once the book was shelved, i was given two recommendations by 50BP, both by the same author i just 2-starred. (i 2-starred another book by the same author during the 2013 round of the 50BP, and one of the 2 recommendations given to me today was the book i read & rated in 2013.)
i just thought i would mention this since i didn't find it helpful and thought there might be room to improve this function?

when i was in the 'savvy top tens' page, and clicked on the 'savvy book club picks' option, i was given this '404 not found' error:

When I want to add a book to my "read" shelves that I have read on my Kobo, the choice is always "Kindle" edition. Is that generic for any e reading device? Why doesn't it just say e book?

Hi there! I notice that on the first page of this group it says "currently reading" and has a book link. Is that random or is it showing what the moderator is reading or is it perhaps something we could use if, as a group, we decided to read a specific book? Or maybe none of the above? Right now it's showing After I'm Gone by Laura Lippman.

I have the same question about ebooks that I read on Overdrive from the public library. I just put Kindle version though.

Each week, myself, the moderators of the 50 Book Pledge Goodreads group and the admins on 50BookPledge.ca pick one book and invite 50 Book Pledge-rs to read it with us. You're welcome to join! Last week the Featured Read was After I'm Gone and this week's it's The Strain. Next week's book is going to be a re-read for me... it's one of my favourite new novels. Stay tuned!

Hi,I just noticed that there is a badge for reading a Jonas Jonasson book. I added The 100 Year Old Man to my read shelf a few weeks ago, but have not received the badge. Should I remove it and add it again?

I have read both the 100 year old man and The Girl who saved ... and did not receive the badge either.

Is there a way to link my goodreads account to my 50bookpledge account so that when I enter something as read on one siteit will reflect it on both? Or do I have to add books as read individually?
i cant enter any of the books i read or search by author. when I go to title the title drop down box it does not allow me to go search by author.
We can collect information here, in one specific place, which may be helpful to other participants - whether questions, suggestions, or glitches you encounter on the 50BP site, comment away right here!
