Not for the faint of heart, vocabulary alone is exhausting.
But a challenge and a delight.
Could actually hear the music as it was described. The plot kept going,
intertwined with music and activity.
Also enjoyed his 3 Farmers on their Way to a Dance----the Dance turned out to be WWI and the activity of the era. Bold. Riveting.
I was familiar with only a handful of composers mentioned in the book (Cage, Young, Stockhausen) and have started seeking out the ones less-mentioned. I was surprised Eno wasn't mentioned -- at least, not up to the last 50 pages (where I am now).
