Erik Grotz I would love to discuss the way Powers discussed music and sound in the book.

I was familiar with only a handful of composers mentioned in the book (Cage, Young, Stockhausen) and have started seeking out the ones less-mentioned. I was surprised Eno wasn't mentioned -- at least, not up to the last 50 pages (where I am now).

WWNorton On Soundcloud you can listen to Richard Powers talking about the music and sound in Orfeo.

Patsy Fantastic book.
Not for the faint of heart, vocabulary alone is exhausting.
But a challenge and a delight.
Could actually hear the music as it was described. The plot kept going,
intertwined with music and activity.
Also enjoyed his 3 Farmers on their Way to a Dance----the Dance turned out to be WWI and the activity of the era. Bold. Riveting.
