HUNT FOR THE HORSEMAN has a young girl, Sandy, visiting her extended family, in her ancestral palace, in India. She meets scads of cousins, scores of uncles and aunts, and had great fun in the palace because it has amazing hidey holes built into it by a queen who had a great sense of fun.

I'm sad that I missed when those two were free. I shall have to keep a closer eye on posts in future, and buy the ones I missed being free when I have the funds to do so. They're on my "to-read" list now at least!

Gita Reddy | 32 comments This Sunday, Feb'23,my FREE DOWNLOAD, King Neptune's Delite, is a novel for Middle Graders, Genre: Action & Adventure.

King Neptune's Delite by Gita V. Reddy King Neptune's Delite

The story starts in a tiny fishing village in Kerala, India. Maya finds a bottle with a diamond ring, a newspaper cutting, and a blank paper. She, her brother and their two friends put together these clues and guess someone, probably aboard a ship, had sent out a signal for help.

The children, who have lost their fishermen fathers in a cyclone, work for the owner of a Curio shop. They pick the beach for shells, drift wood, sea glass and anything of value the sea brings in.

Maya is the youngest in the group but she is the practical and sensible one. However, the dazzling find, the appearance of muscled, tattooed Swamy, his suspicious manner and above all, the call of adventure makes even Maya reckless. Instead of going to a grownup or the police, the children decide to go to the rescue of the prisoner. Their quest takes them to the harbor town of Cochin, aboard the ship, 'King Neptune's Delite', and into danger with men for whom bloodshed is a game.

Added to the adventure, the book reveals facets of Indian culture, the community living of small villages where no child is left uncared for, and humour, and fun.

The free download is available on all amazon stores like amazon.com, amazon.uk, amazon.in, etc. but the download is as per US time; approximately 12:00 AM Pacific Standard Time on the date specified.

Daksha the Medicine Girl by Gita V. Reddy Daksha the Medicine Girl is PERMANENTLY FREE on smashwords.
Link: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

Thank you for your patience in following my weekly posts since January. Thank you for the downloads. There haven't been many ratings / reviews, which was the original purpose of this marathon 'hawking'.

I had wanted reviews but I was also apprehensive because the reviews would be by adults while the books are for children, mainly in the age group 8-12.

Please share the books with children; all books are enabled for lending. The books are almost violence free, are closer to the real world, and are not preachy at all.

Once again, thank you.

I intend to read the ones I've downloaded in the near future, and will give them a rating on Goodreads at the very least. The one I got from Smashwords will get a short review on there, because I always review books I get on there.

I haven't got any children to share the books with, but I write children's books and read a lot of them, so I have some idea what makes a good one. It's not quite the same as having a child read them, but it's the closest I can get for you, I'm afraid. My hubby and brother say I never fully grew up if that helps though, LOL!

Thank you, Tori. I must have goofed up, probably not saved or something, because The Forbidden Forest is not free today. I have now made it free on amazon for 24 and 31 March, 2014.

When your brother and husband say you have not fully grown up, they are paying you a great compliment.

Well, whether they mean it as a compliment or not, I'm taking it as one... Growing up sounds boring to me! ;)

I was just coming to tell you it wasn't showing as free for me. That explains it then!

By the way, I do intend to grab others of your books (ones I missed getting for free) when funds allow.

Yes, I got Daksha via Smashwords a couple of weeks ago, but haven't read it yet.

I've got a few more books I want to read for a reading challenge, and one I need to read because I'm submitting a story for the sequel, but once I've read all those I'll take the time to read all the books of yours I've got, and at least give you a rating (Daksha will get a short review on Smashwords, because I got it from there, and always at least do short reviews on Smashwords if books come from there).
