What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

There is a Dean Koontz (I believe) book where this guy and girl end up together for some reason I think one of their cars breaks down then they end up working together to solve some sort of mystery and they go to the girls mothers house and the mom somehow is listening to historic radio broadcast (like she is living in the past) and is some sort of psychic or witch.

Could it be "by the light of the moon"? It wasa good book.
