15.5 Vincent From Gogh

On March 30 1853 Vincent van Gogh was born. van Gogh is a family name meaning "from Gogh", a town near the Netherlands border.
Read a book by an author whose last name (name in the last position) includes a prefix: Al, bin, D', Da, De, Del, De la, Della, Den, Des, Di, Dos, Du, El, Fitz, L', ibn, La, Las, Le, Les, Lo, Los, M', Mac, Mc, Ni, O', Saint, St., Ste., Te, Ten, Ter, Van, Van der, Vander, Von. The prefix MUST be evident through a space, capitalization, hyphen or apostrophe. For the purposes of this task it will be assumed that any of the prefixes listed above separated by a space followed by another name in the last position are surnames.

ex. Lynn D'urso, Susan Elia MacNeal, Simon Van Booy, Lisa St. Aubin de Terán

The prefix MUST be evident through a space, capitalization, hyphen or apostrophe. If you feel an author's name is incorrect in a GR author record, please ask for a correction in anyone with librarian status.
Remember that Goodreads Authors control their own profiles and librarians cannot make changes to their profiles

For SRC purposes the last name is considered the name in the last position.

No- those names do not include a prefix. The prefix MUST be evident through a space, capitalization, hyphen or apostrophe.

Sheila wrote: "Okay. about Nelson DeMille and Cartwheel"

Nelson DeMille yes, prefix De capital M

Cartwheel by Jennifer Dubois- right now, it doesn't work. The prefix isn't evident. The author does use duBois Jennifer duBois- that's something for a librarian to determine and correct if necessary

Michelle (mnmgbwi) | 197 comments What about a book with 2 authors? Do both of them need to have the prefix? I'm thinking this one...

The Strain by Guillermo del Toro (but it appears to be co-authored by Chuck Hogan)

If not, I have found a few other options that I know would work.

Thanks in advance!

D'Amato works, but Bloodlines is part 1 of 2
Bloodlines is the complete book

For anyone looking to read this, I did a bit of research and changed her to duBois. Seems the most common way that she capitalizes it. :)

Sassafrass wrote: "will Red by Kate SeRine work?"

Since it follows the name pattern, I'll take it
