- Once all columns of a goal have been filled out a new goal will appear within 5 minutes.

- Do not change existing pages. You may add a new page to your spreadsheet if you want to track additional information.

- Mark books as used in your books list once they are used for a goal.

- Only books read during the current round may be applied towards goals, once the round has ended those books may no longer be used for a goal.

- Once you merge teams, you may use your books for your partner teams goals. List them in your books list and on their goals sheet. Mark them as used.

- If you end up with more than 3 open goals, contact a moderator for help.

Hello everyone! Glad to be here

The master spreadsheet and team spreadsheet has been added to the beginning of your team thread.

Captains and co-captains should message the moderator account with their team name and google doc e-mail to be added to the approved editors of the team spreadsheet.

Quick question, I looked at the spread sheets and one of the challenges is to "Read a book that contains the word sunflower." Does that mean anywhere in the book at all or the title?

Looking at the open goals, I don't have anything lined up that would work for a "socialite" yet, could probably do "sunflower" (if needed), and can definitely do the "V" author. Also, I should be able to rack up attack points with the number of books read.

I have one for sunflower, and "V" author. Currently no idea about "socialite"

Any other books I read count for attack points, right? But ony if I start tomorrow?

I need to refresh myself on the rules again but I'm under the impression that we earn defense & attack points for every goal achieved (a new goal will be added after one is completed) & we also earn attack points for any book read that doesn't fit a goal (0.5 point for under 500 pgs & 1 point for 500 & over).

I also believe it was stated that books can't be started until August 2nd. There is a countdown clock on here somewhere as I can't remember which time zone this game is being played in.

Perfect timing. I've got about 2 hours left on the one I'm working on. Will be ready to start something new when the clock strikes zero!

This is my first group challenge. I usually just lurk and do the challenges myself, so as not to let a group down. So, I'm going to look to you guys for a lot of help on how to best go about all this.

I'm thinking you guys have all of the goals covered, right? So should I just start reading any book to get the attack points?

Or should I wait? Do we get new goals once the book is assigned to someone? Or once the assigned person is finished reading?

Oh - and since I've never done anything like this before, I'm kind of fuzzy on the whole "shelf" thing. When I signed up, I had to create a shelf. Do I just put anything I read in that shelf? Goals only?

New goal only appears after a goal is marked as complete on the spreadsheet.

But you can read any book that counts to attack, and if it fits the new goal it can be used. As long as it is on the round it is read.

No, we are not. And if your team members are, I'll ground them!

You put there all books you read for the challenge. Is to make it easier on the captains.

Feel free to ask anything, Kim! This is my second group challenge so I'm pretty new to this, too, but I'll try to help. :) I feel like Sonia already answered your questions way better than I could have, but if you have any more I'd be happy to (try to) answer.

So guys I was thinking it would be easier to have links to all the shelves here, for updating purposes. Could everyone tell me what they named their shelf, please? :)

Yeah, when we finish a book we post it here. I think a good format would be title of the book, author, number of pages, and what goal it was used for (if it fits for a goal).

If a book we read fits a later goal in the same round, then we post again later on.

My "V" author book I'm still waiting on from the library, the hold should be off anytime now but it could be tomorrow or it could be 4 days from now, it won't exceed the round though.

If we are trying to cross goals off quickly to move to the next one, maybe someone else on the team might be able to guarantee that goal faster. We still have people who have not checked-in yet.

My profile is private so whoever will be checking the shelves I will send a friend request to as soon as I get a chance.

Don't worry about it :) I've felt & feel the same way at times and I do several team challenges simultaneously.

Will someone look at this author and tell me if the "Van" is part of the last name or not? This is the one I'm planning to start this evening, so it might qualify??? Would have it done tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

She's not just a MOD, she's the GLADIATOR'S MASTER QUEEN.

We disabled the moderator highlighting because it was driving us nuts. It works fine for small groups with one or two mods... but we are 6, plus the mod account we all use, so it was overwhelming
