I am taking each book-within-the-book a chunk at a time with this instalment. Aside from Tehol and Bugg, I can't say I am really enjoying any of the characters so far. This is by no means implying that it was not engaging. It has just been really bleak and grim so far. All the killing, scheming, betrayals, raping, etc. The travelling group of Silchas Ruin, Seren, Udinaas, Kettle and Fear Sengar is the most agitating (for obvious reasons, yes, but URGH!)
Glad to see Toc back in the picture although it was not the most pleasant of circumstance for him. Toc the Unlucky indeed.
Very intrigued with Redmask - and how a human can become the Mortal Sword of the K'Chain Che'malle!!
