Amelia grew up in a world of half-truths. She knows she's an Elder but has no idea what that means. Her father reminds her daily that she must maintain control but he refuses to explain why. Even worse, she's betrothed to the prince of the Immortals and she doesn't even know his name.

Finally breaking free to live a few normal years at a community college, the last thing Amelia expects is to find her best friend in a cheeky Southern girl and to fall for a self-assured human who sees her for who she is and not what she'll be.

As she learns more about herself, Amelia realizes the line between love and duty is a thin one. As her power continues to increase exponentially and her questions are slowly answered, Amelia must make the ultimate choice. The question is, will her head or her heart win the battle?

The beginning was (view spoiler)[a bit slow, and the insta love between Aidan and Amelia was a little annoying. I like Bethany a lot, but I listened to the audiobook and the narrator made her sound SOOO annoying! (hide spoiler)]

The scene in the woods when she shut Micah out (view spoiler)[ was so crazy!!!! I seriously didn't think that these guys would end up being "good" (at least they seem good right now but it's only book one haha) and MICAH!?! The PRINCE!?! I didn't believe it until Micah himself confirmed him. Crazy! I was thinking maaaaaaybe it would end up being Aiden or something. (hide spoiler)]

The end (view spoiler)[ I KNEW Aiden was going to be someone special! :) I feel SO bad for him, she has to leave him at this moment of all moments, she (and him!) just finds out about his power. He must be so scared... Or at least feeling alone. I'm glad he has Cole. I hate how it just ends!!!! I'm sure I'll be picking up book two. (hide spoiler)]

Thinking back, did you notice or find it odd that (view spoiler)[ It said humans cannot see their colors and their magic? But Bethany did!!!! Do you thinks it was an oversight in editing? Or will she end up being a magical being?? I'm thinking it was an oversight but I want to hear other opinions! There was one more thing I noticed that odd but cannot remeber what it was ... Will update this if I do! :) (hide spoiler)]
