Around the World 2014--Reading Lolita in Tehran
I am always up for any new books so sign me up :) p.s. I tried to broadcast this thread as a message but I guess I am limited to one per day - sorry! Maybe tomorrow!

Just curious.... I did a travelling book and we high lighted and wrote notes in the margined and whatnot (terrible I know, almost can't bring myself to do it) but is that something we do with this one? Or maybe post it's would be better haha.
Thanks,

Okay no worries just wanted to check! It's very nice of you to send out your own books to be read :)

Let me know if I've missed anyone! Charmaine, if you could message me your address, I'll get the book mailed out!

You're welcome, David :)

Couple of quick things:
When you get the book in the mail, if you all could just leave a quick note here to let me know, that would be great! Same thing when you've mailed it off to the next person.
Someone asked me if there is a time limit to this. I don't think we need an official one, but just remember that there are others waiting to read it, so please don't hold on to it for months and months! I'd say 2-3 weeks should be doable for most people.
If you want to take a pic of yourself with the book and post it here, that would be groovy :) And try to include a postcard or a brochure or something for your area when you mail it off.
And after you read it, let us know your thoughts!
I think that's it, I can't think of anything else!

HOW the heck it ended up in New Jersey, I have no idea! So I opened an inquiry at my post office, who then talked to someone in charge in Des Moines, who will follow up with the other facilities involved in this. So frustrating! My post lady said that more than likely that should fix things. I do know the post office system in California is HORRIBLE, from doing customer service.

Every Thursday morning for two years in the Islamic Republic of Iran, a bold and inspired teacher named Azar Nafisi secretly gathered seven of her most committed female students to read forbidden Western classics. As Islamic morality squads staged arbitrary raids in Tehran, fundamentalists seized hold of the universities, and a blind censor stifled artistic expression, the girls in Azar Nafisi's living room risked removing their veils and immersed themselves in the worlds of Jane Austen, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Henry James, and Vladimir Nabokov. In this extraordinary memoir, their stories become intertwined with the ones they are reading. Reading Lolita in Tehran is a remarkable exploration of resilience in the face of tyranny and a celebration of the liberating power of literature.
I would ask that anyone who is interested be 100% certain and if possible a regular poster here because I truly want this to work this time. Also, as you will be expected to mail the book to the next person so there will be some monetary costs for shipping to keep in mind. Anyway I hope I get some takers on this and can come up with an awesome list of places to mail my book. All I ask is that once you get it you put a blurb on here to let us know it arrived and it would rock if you would also place a post card or note in the book before you mail it so I can take pictures of them all when I get the book back *crosses fingers* so everyone can see them. If you are interested (PLEASE BE SERIOUS) put your name here and where you live so I can start a list. WOOT!
