I have tons of bookmarks, but I never use them. Every time I'm reading a book I get my finger between the pages and then just go with the book everywhere until I find a piece of paper.
I guess what I like about them is not using them, it's the bookmark itself.
I lose bookmarks all the time. Or they fall out and I want to scream. Somebody bought me a really nice silver clip one that seems to be soon the job at the moment... But I do bend corners!

Every time I start a new book and can't find a bookmark, I always convince myself that I will be able to remember my page number. That's a rarity. I usually end up flipping through the first several chapters until I reach a section that I don't recognize, which ends up wasting quite a bit of time. I wish I could have as good of a memory as you do, Riya! It would certainly come in handy.

I love bookmarks and use them all the time. Every time I start a new book it gets a new bookmark. I am also redesigning my bedroom this month and painting it so I have some paint chip samples that I have been using as bookmarks as well.
I recently found a stash of old bookmarks that I received in kindergarten and first grade when my school was competing in a read a thon. They're a bit tattered and worn, but they saw quite a bit of use and I wasn't very gentle with my belongings when I was little. Two or three of them are even torn in half. Now to find some tape...
I remember have book fairs at school and getting The Scholastic Book catalog when I was in grade school. I ordered so many books from it. Is it still around?
I'm not sure, to be honest. It was definitely in existence 5 or 6 years ago, but I haven't heard anything about it recently, which is disappointing. I used to love pouring over those catalogs and picking out the books I wanted to order.

That doesn't sound stupid at all! I also have a 3D bookmark of a hummingbird and I love it. I use it all the time. And since the hummingbird looks like it's flying, I like to tell my friends that I'm "literally flying through the book." Cheesy, I know, but it cracks me up every time :P

I totally agree

So what are everyone else's thoughts on bookmarks?
