Zadignose | 157 comments Raul Ruiz calls Contre l'image (a.k.a. Against Images) "still explosive stuff" forty years after its publication.

"He summarizes all the arguments against photography, cinema, and above all utopian imagery."

Munier has perhaps four books listed on goodreads, none translated into English, with a total of 3 ratings between them, and this text is not among them. Yet it is cited by several other texts on film theory and history as a powerful and significant work. But I guess the world has mostly forgotten him since the sixties lapsed.
