"Only the power of God can free us from our natural self-centeredness and reorient us toward the mission of God. There is no need to pray that God would come in power. That is the only way He ever comes. We need hearts that are so responsive to Him that He will choose to demonstrate His power through us. Is your heart so filled with love for God that you are watching for the first opportunity to say with Isaiah, "Here am I. Send Me!"? From Experience God Day by Day.
I must admitt that I am not where I am supposed to be. I am working on a regular reading schedual but deal with constant interuptions. I hope to have someone to help me with sharing and discussion.
I am also enjoying the book "Unlimiting God" by Richard Blackaby It helps to come close to Him by not placing limits on Him. This part in the book has set me to thinking of collecting biography..
"I love to read biographies. It fascinates me to study the lives of people who had a dramatic impact on the world for Christ. Almost without exception, they were ordingary men and women whom God enabled to overcome their limition factors so they could achieve great things for His kingdom." From "Unlimiting God".
I love Jesus, The Father, The Holy Spirit. But, I do get in the way. Am I alone in this?

Sybill, that we have in common! I love to research on the lives of others too. I found myself in a place I don't want to leave, but have to in order to work. I have a book I am reading now by Dr. Richard G. Lee "In God we Still trust." It give you quotes and lives from old believing Christians during the 1500-1900s. They believed, and we must too. I will put those books on my to read list. Thanks for sharing with me. God bless you Sybill.

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time." 1Tim.2:1-6
By the way I didn't properly introduce my self. Hi! I am Sybille Norris Rev. RN and glad to meet you. :)
Amen, amen. I agree with you Sybille!!! So glad to meet you too. I am an evangelist who is working for the Lord by taking care of His elderly before they leave this world; my joy is to help them enter into God's presence, and to be there for them as a companion. I enjoy the work, but sometimes it get stressful for me, but I can do all things through Christ Jesus Who strength me, amen. I look forward to getting to know you in the Lord. God bless you!

I guess you just have to Google "Unlimiting God" by Blackaby. I Googled your suggestion "Fruit of the Spirit" and I got it. Which brings me to this topic of this book, AWESOME. I prayed to the Lord awhile back about having Jesus' love because my love is not enough and here is this book. Well I am going to read some more on it and maybe we can share. :) Blessings
Ok, I will google it, thanks. Oh my, that is a blessing to be able to go into the home with them; such a precious time for them. God bless you! I remember those days too, before I start home health care, then personal living care, now personal live-in with them as a companion. Our lives are blessed because we are doing what Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20, amen. I love serving the Lord and doing his will; I hear it in your words too that you love it!!! God bless you Sybille. Talk soon ok
Evangelist wrote: "I just started this book. I like it so far! I am studying "Fruit of the Spirit" by Glenn Pease too. Both will be a blessing as I study and read them."
I am still reading this book, but will be finished soon, and then I will study the ministry of Jesus.
