This week's read, Matthew Quick's new book! http://amzn.to/1eG5eol

And next week we'll be reading The Moon Sisters by Therese Walsh, coming out on Tuesday.

Another excellent novel from Quick, this time with a Canadian connection. What could be better? Funny, heartbreaking, insightful. Bravo.

One thing I've noticed with Quick's books is that the main characters are all struggling with some kind of mental illness and also have a sort of naivete about them. Do you find that realistic?

Arlene Morrell | 103 comments This story is told with both compassion and humor. I could not get into the story in the beginning. I was trying to see what the letters to Richard Gere had to do with anything. I enjoyed it more and was totally hooked at the end. I enjoyed Matthew Quick's other book Silver Linings Playbook, both movie and book. This book could be heading toward a screenplay.

Yes, I think for some people with mental illness they find it very difficult to cope with the world so they rely on others. However, some do cope and can use their own abilities.
