Jack the Ripper is back,
and he's coming for Rory next....
Louisiana teenager Rory Deveaux arrives in London to start a new life at boarding school just as a series of brutal murders mimicking the horrific Jack the Ripper killing spree of more than a century ago has broken out across the city. The police are left with few leads and no witnesses. Except one. Rory spotted the man believed to be the prime suspect. But she is the only one who saw him - the only one who can see him. And now Rory has become his next target...unless she can tap her previously unknown abilities to turn the tables.

This one was quite a refreshing read. I hope you guys will like it :).

One of me favourites! I loved the second one a lot more! But both were awesome!

I liked the second one best too. i think the third will be out this year ☺

Really? I felt the second one was kinda slow, uneventful and full of angst :(.

The angst was awful but I liked it a lot lol!

I just read the 1st two chapters and it is promising. I have always found the Jack the Ripper murders interesting and so far it seems like it could be a fun read.

I'm going to try and start reading today!

(view spoiler)[I like Rory's personality and humour. Great beginnings of friendship between Rory and her roommate Jazza. I liked their chat in which they found each other's lives more interesting than their own. So it seems Charlotte is acting like the queen bee of the lunch table. Is there more to her than meets the eye or is she just a biotch judging by Jazza's recount of how Charlotte went after a guy Jazza was interested in? (hide spoiler)]

I forgot the book today and missed out on my prime reading time (while my son is at lacrosse practice... Will try to read some tonight before I go to bed... Sorry!

For a moment it did seem like he was a ghost, because of the light and the fact that reading in the dark didn't seem to bother him and also this "Jerome was so preoccupied that he didn’t even acknowledge Alistair’s presence." (or maybe he didn't see him at all?).
But now Boo sees him, and what does that mean? Also, Boo gets really interested in Alistar the first time she meets him. (hide spoiler)]

I have gotten so far behind with my reading... such a busy week!!

I got up to chapter 10. I have really been enjoying this book.

(view spoiler)[ I love Jazza and Jerome! I think I was just as excited as Jazza was about the pub date. Definitely hope that it is a budding romance.
I wonder how Veronica is going to fit into the story... thinking that she will somehow meet Rory and be an integral part of the story.
Since there was all sorts of talk about Charlotte being competitive made me wonder if she is going to try to make a play for Jerome. Right now, she seems to be tolerating Rory, but I have a feeling she is going to cause some trouble. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 31! Getting better by the second!

(view spoiler)[ I was thinking about Jerome's and Rory's relationship. I mean, I like Jerome and everything, but I don't think he is boyfriend material, I'm thinking he might be the before-boyfriend, you know, the guy before the OTP. I'm thinking of Stephen, maybe, because he is this big mystery, and we don't really know a lot about him. Seems like a good candidate. (hide spoiler)]

Finished! Wow, that ending! I have to read the next one! Unfortunately, I think I'll have to wait till next month :(

I read up through chapter 18
(view spoiler)[ For some reason I knew she could see ghosts and that bald guy is a ghost for sure!! I don't know why but I don't think the bald guy is the killer. I can't say why, but it seems too obvious.
Also... I think it is kind of creepy that the note said that he already has picked the next victim... At some point I feel like he is going to try and murder one of the kids from the school... also do you think he kills people who can see ghosts? If that theory is right, then I wonder if he will try to kill Rory and that is why the bald guy said what he did to her.

Finally finished it!
(view spoiler)[ I really loved this story. I was not surprised that it was not the real Jack the Ripper, but I was surprised about who it was. That guy was really wacked! I could not believe when he was trying to use her as an experiment.
So... Did it sound like the Shades were disbanding? I found the end a little vague. I do want to keep reading the series though... I hope that she becomes a shade and I would love to find out if Ines is right and Jerome is just a before-boyfriend or if their relationship becomes more of a relationship rather than just a kiss or make out session here and there. (hide spoiler)]

The second book was good though there was not much of a plot in my opinion. I can't really reply to your question without revealing what I know :P

The Name of the Star shouldn't have been sitting on my shelf for this long! I'm glad for the March Spring Cleaning challenge XD
