We have several projects going, some are bi-monthly, others go quarterly or longer. We love for people to drop into all of them, some of them, whatever takes your fancy! :D

Check out the Tour d'Afrique, our longest running project that has seen us travel right across the African continent since 2008. Every two months, we visit a new country and read a book from or set in said country. Find our more in the Tour d'Afrique folders. Here is where we solicit recommendations for each tour stop and here is where we discuss the books. In 2015 we are visiting São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, and South Africa.

For those who love delving into contemporary literature, we've got a whole project just dedicated to discovering what's new and contemporary in Africa. Check out the 2015 Contemporary Lit project where we explore literature based on two lists--50 Books by African Women and 50 Books by African Men that everyone should read.

Both projects have books selected based on polls, so get involved and vote! :) If you want to revisit past years, simply scroll down through the folders you see on our group's home page.

This year, we also have two special projects: one focused on a specific country--NIGERIA, the other is a BIG reads project (and I mean BIG), looking at Africa: Altered States, Ordinary Miracles. Check them out if you're interested...

In addition to these regular projects, we have folders for our member authors to engage readers, promote their work, and avoid spamming our threads.

Or if you want to just discuss any book to do with Africa, feel free to do that in the Great African Reads: Books section.

Please shout out for further clarification if you're not sure where to post stuff or how to find things! :)
