Time to nominate books for our traditional October Wild Card read! If you're new to the group and unfamiliar with the Wild Card, please read 'How Things Work' in the Welcome folder. In short, the Wild Card is for books that may be considered a bit too firmly in the 'genre' camp for our usual selections.

Nominations will be open until the poll goes up in about a week. Poll will stay open one week, and the discussion will start on October 15th.

LindaJ^ (lindajs) | 2548 comments I nominate The Fold by Peter Clines. It is a sci fi thriller with a bit of horror mixed in. Perfect October fare.

Lark Benobi (larkbenobi) | 730 comments I nominate Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer.

Peter Aronson (peteraronson) | 516 comments I had considered nominating The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August last time, as in many ways it is sort of a midpoint between Life After Life and The Bone Clocks, both of which this group has read. But you can only nominate one book at a time.

Teanka | 36 comments I'd like to nominate The City & the City as I've just checked the bookshelf and saw no books by China Miéville have been discussed in the group . IMO,they seem a perfect candidate for a Wild Card read.

Really fascinating book, Teanka! And good job spotting an author we haven't covered.

We have a winner: The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August.

So, Zulfiya, as the nominator, do you want attempt the record for "Most Books Moderated By a Single Individual at One Time"? (I double dog dare you.)

message 11: by Zulfiya (new)

Zulfiya (ztrotter) | 397 comments I guess I will be moderating two books in your group :-) )))))
