Sinistmer | 212 comments Nicki, I also really liked Uprooted. The main character (whose name escapes me at the moment) was well done. And the world building is just great.\

I am currently reading Words of Radiance. I seriously cannot get enough of The Stormlight Archive.

Mitch Weller | 17 comments I really liked A Canticle for Leibowitz... I'm half way through the Eye of The World.. Liking it so far....

message 3: by Craig (new)

Craig I've got about 5 different books that I have partly read, but my primary focus has been on Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaasen.

message 4: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) At least you're rectifying that now, Nolan!

message 5: by Alvin (new)

Alvin (solidocelot) | 3 comments I actually don't think I've read anything from King either, If I did it had to be way back in the day and I just can't recall.
I've just started Broken Souls

At the moment, I'm reading three books:

Imajica by Clive Barker

Ferdydurke by Witold Gombrowicz

Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake

September seems to be a rather hard month for me, since there's plenty of stuff I have to do, but other goals for this month would be Barker's Weaveworld and the rest of Peake's Gormenghast series as well as more stuff by Gombrowicz.

message 7: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) I just finished The Rabbit Back Literature Society, it was a strange one. I have one book I didn't finish in August that was City of a Thousand Dolls, my mind kind of wandered and I was drawn to other things but I like it and will finish soon.

message 8: by Stefanie (new)

Stefanie Seay | 2 comments I just discovered Terry Pratchett, and I've been going through the part of the series with Tiffany Aching (does it have a proper name?) I can't believe I've been reading fantasy this long and haven't read Pratchett before! I haven't laughed that much while reading since I read my first Twain novel!

Elisabeth (dotdots) | 9 comments New to this group so I guess I have failed that "we read this book part"..but I hope I am excused. I am currently reading Armada :) Pretty decent. I think I preferred Ready Player One though.

Edit: Finished the book now, it was not bad, but not my favourite. Cant wait for Ready Player One to hit the big screens though!!! Woo!

message 10: by Craig (new)

Craig I don't know if anyone else is reading The Two of Swords: Part Seven series by K. J. Parker, but I finished Part 7 last night. Part 8 will be released next week. I have really been enjoying it.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 5312 comments I've been reading a whole lot of fluffy nothing. Im not even tracking it, lol.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2976 comments Currently reading The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls. Not loving it.

message 13: by Elsi (new)

Elsi | 11 comments Of the 11 books I've read this month, only two are of interest to this community. First off was The Oncoming Storm by Christopher Nuttall -- an excellent military SF novel with a female protagonist, sort of in the vein of Kris Longknife or Honor Harrington.

The second was Fires of Invention by J. Scott Savage. Pretty decent dystopian novel for young adults.

message 14: by Sinistmer (new)

Sinistmer | 212 comments I am reading The Watchmaker of Filigree Street. It's quite enjoyable!
