I was the first to suggest this book to be read for this group. I know it takes a lot of votes for a book to win but I still feel pretty bummed that I picked a book no one likes. just wanted to apologize.

Hey no worries- I was super excited to get a chance to read this one and I would've picked it up even without being in the group! Honestly, commenting in the group was the one thing helped me get through it (I hate putting down books halfway through) so that was nice.
I did a full review of this one for goodreads but I think my major issues with it were things that everyone else picked up on. It wanted to be the next GRRM but the politics were pretty shallow, the characters largely lifeless, and the dinosaurs relegated to set pieces. (Although the dino jousting was pretty sweet and the cover and illustrations are gorgeous!
It's a shame too because this could've been something really great but I for one am happy to finally have the time to join in the discussion on here. :)
