Tess looked very small in Miles's jacket, and she inhaled deeply, smelling the jacket discretely. She absolutely loved the smell of, well, Miles. Then she got a whiff of the ice cream parlor when Miles held the door open for her, and she just grinned like a kid in a candy shop. A random question popped into her mind. "Do you speak any other language besides English?" she asked curiously. They stepped up to the counter and attempted to pick a flavor, although they weren't focusing on that.
"Well I had to learn some languages for later in life, so I know a few," Tess told him, not wanting to seem as if she was bragging by telling him all the languages she knew. It was required, of course, of the future queen to be able to communicate with other countries in their own language.
She looked at the ice cream with a mix of happiness and excitement. Tess bit her lip, trying to decide what to have.

"Dutch, English, German, Swedish, French, Italian, Irish, Russian, and Portuguese," she said, not really paying attention as he guided her along to look at more flavors. "French is my first language though," she added.
((I honestly don't speak like any other languages. XD I know a one phrase in french and some spanish.))
Tess laughed, looking at Miles. "Well it was required of me. I have to be fluent in writing, reading, and speaking before.. you know," she blushed. "I am stronger in certain languages. French, Italian, English, and German are my strongest languages. They are the ones I need the most normally," she told him. She just loved the look of disbelief on his face.
"Actually, I started when I was about two, after I had known French for a year. It was very confusing but I got the hang of it quickly. My parents would always tease me because of how often I would switch languages on accident," Tess told him, smiling at the memory. "Funny enough, English was and is my third language."

Tess blushed then laughed as he pulled her closer to him. "Accomplishments don't matter, as long as you're a kind person," she told him sincerely, looking into his eyes. "Well it's great that there's no pressure in your home. It makes things easier, at least I'm assuming," she smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Well you can choose whatever you wish! The sky is your limit." Tess noticed that they hadn't broke eye contact and she just felt a sudden urge to kiss him. She blushed and broke eye contact, not having the guts to do so. Tess hoped it wasn't obvious what she had been thinking, and she turned back to the ice cream. "Any idea what you want?" she asked with a smile, trying to change the subject.

Tess grinned. "I like the simple ones- if you get too much it's overpowering, I think," she told him. It was amusing to her that the ice cream parlor was empty except for them and someone in the back of the store. She adjusted her glasses and was smiling when he pulled her close. "What are you smiling at?" she asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.
Tess looked at Miles, a question on her mind. "Do you have any ideas why your parents named you Miles?" she asked, curious and a bit nervous about the answer. It was a question that she was planning on asking her parents- why did they name her the name she had? It was a question that had lingered on her mind for a while.
((She smells like Peppermint with a little bit of Rose and a hint of Vanilla. Random fun fact))

"Vous bien sûr," she replied when he asked her what she was smiling at. Tess knew he would be confused.
"I have no idea either. I was just thinking about my name- it's Tess Rose. Why would they name me after the rose the Enchantress gave my father that was the symbol of years of loneliness and unhappiness?" she wondered aloud. "I just don't get it." Tess grinned at Miles. "Smiles?" she asked, amused by the nickname. She inhaled the campfire and pine smell of Miles's jacket. She never wanted to give it back, so she could keep his scent. But she knew she should return it sometime soon.

"Oh nothing," Tess told him, giving him a wide and cheesy smile.
"Oh ma parole," (view spoiler) she whispered to herself, a look of shock and confusion on her face. "But," she started, a million thoughts flying through her head. "A tribute?" she said in disbelief, completely unconvinced. "Every rare occasion the Enchantress is mentioned in my home, if my father is in the room he gets upset."
Tess laughed when he gave her a huge smile. "Well I can tell that you are," she said, smiling. It was just contagious, Miles's smile.
"Are you ready?" Tess asked, ringing the bell.

Tess shrugged, concluding that she would just ask them next time they came in contact. "Yes, I guess," she said, still unconvinced.
She laughed. "Oh sorry! I just saw the bell and really wanted to ring it," she explained. "It's a good thing I'm not related to Aurora," she joked.
They both heard footsteps, indicating that someone was approaching to get them delicious frozen treats.

Tess felt Miles pull her closer and grinned. A young man walked out with an odd, unsettling look towards her and she looked down. She put her hands in her pockets, obviously uncomfortable. Tess just got a bad and off vibe about him, and ordered quickly, forgetting about her manners. "I'd like the same." They both waited for the man to put their ice cream in cones and then he rang them up. Tess was oddly silent during this process, and she looked down, not making eye contact with the man. She took her wallet out to pay for the ice cream, avoiding the man's eyes.
"Well I don't know. I'm used to paying for myself," she admitted. Tess put her wallet back in her bag and gave him a small smile. "I'm usually the one to pay if Darley and I go places," she explained. Tess allowed him to lead her over to a far table, and she looked out the window.
"Me too," she said quietly. Tess could still feel his eyes on her when she just wished that he wouldn't look. She heard a crash and she glanced up at the man, noticing he wasn't looking at her anymore. Instead, he was on the floor, curled up into a ball in pain. A look of shock and confusion was on her face as she realized that what she wished had come to reality. She then masked the look into a frown. "What just happened?" she asked, as if she had no clue.

Tess took his ice cream and closed her eyes, thinking over and over about how he didn't want the man to hurt anymore. Her eyes started to fill with tears when she realized that she was the monster that did this to the man.
The man took a deep and shaky breath and stood up. "I.. I don't know what happened," he told Miles.
The man took a deep and shaky breath and stood up. "I.. I don't know what happened," he told Miles.
Tess felt horrible. The man was okay now, but who knew a thought could be deadly? Miles approached and wiped away her tears. "It- It's just," she started, taking a deep and shaky breath. Tess didn't know how to explain it to him- she didn't know what his reaction would be. Fear lined her face- fear of Miles not wanting to be around her anymore. She didn't want that to happen. There were little cone stands on the table, and Tess put their cones there. "I know he's okay now.." she started shaking from the tears, although she cried silently. She just felt like disappearing. "It's all my fault," she told him, covering her face.
((Random question: How tall is Miles? I think Tess would be about 5'2", and I pictured him a bit taller than her))
Tess would have enjoyed the embrace more if she wasn't miserable. "But it is," she said quietly, her tear stained face resting against his chest. "It wasn't suppose to happen," she said after she finally stopped crying. "It just.. did. I don't know why or how." Her eyes were red from the tears.
"I didn't know I could do magic. It's normally taught or it's genetic.." she trailed off. "My parents don't do magic and I haven't learned it, so I have no idea what that was," she told him.
Tess pulled back and wiped her face.
Tess pulled back and wiped her face.
Tess looked at him, puzzled. "Maybe I should," she said, more to herself than Miles. "Here, enjoy your ice cream," Tess told him, handing him his ice cream.
After two rings, her mother picked up. "Mère, je suis confus. Pourquoi est-ce que j'ai suis nommé Tess Rose ? Tess sonne comme enchanteresse. Et pourquoi Rose ? Vous savez combien papa n'aime pas qu'on leur rappelle de celui-ci. Et pourquoi dans le monde je peux faire magique?"
(view spoiler) Tess spoke quickly, not allowing her mother to speak until she was finished with her questions.
"Revenir à la maison dès que possible et nous vous expliquera tout. Je vous le promets. A bientôt," her mother responded. (view spoiler)
Tess came back to the table and sat with Miles, a look of confusion and worry on her face.

"My mother said to come home as soon as possible. My mom and dad with both explain everything.. My mom and my dad. He never helps explain things unless it's either bad or difficult to tell us," Tess told Miles. "And I'm not going with Darley. They normally would have Darley come if something this important was being told." Tears threatened to spill when Miles intertwined their fingers together, and she gave him a small smile.
Tess looked at her phone at a text her mother just sent.
"Apparently she's going to have Mrs. Potts and Chip come fly over and pick me up. I have a few hours," Tess told Miles. "I don't think I'll tell Darley I'm going. I'll be back in about a day, two days tops. She'll survive without me," Tess concluded. "If she is worried, then could you call me?" Tess asked Miles. "I can put my number into your phone," she told him, biting her lip nervously. Tess was dreading seeing her parents.

Tess grinned at Miles and playfully shoved him before typing her number into his phone. "Thanks," she said gratefully. She hung his phone in between her fingers in front of his face then ran away with his phone. Tess didn't run that fast, as she expected Miles to catch up.
Tess felt Miles's arms wrap around her and she grinned. "You do know I could've gotten away easily," she told him, laughing. "Are you sure you want it?" she asked, holding it in her hands, refusing to give it back, enjoying the game and the distraction.
Alex grinned as he spun her to face him. "I don't know how you'd call me if I don't give it back. But I will," she answered quietly. She was going to give him his phone back when Alex realized how close they were. This had been the second time that day that she had been aware of their closeness. She just looked into his eyes, not thinking of anything but him. Alex felt the same desire to kiss him as earlier, and hoped he could tell what she was thinking.
Tess felt the warmth of Miles's hand on her cheek as he leaned over and kissed her. Their lips barely touched when he pulled away. She grinned, no words coming to mind.
Tess laughed and stepped closer to Miles. She kissed him, standing on her tip toes, her arms around his neck. After a while she pulled away, grinning. "Does that answer your question?" she asked, a look of content on her face. You could tell just by looking at her that she was the happiest she had been in quite some time.

"Now that is better than holding hands," she grinned, not even blushing by her comment. He pulled her close then asked if she was ready to leave. She sighed, not wanting to go after what she had just done. Tess responded after contemplating if she really wanted to go. "Well I'm ready to go. But do I want go? No," she told him, still grinning.
Tess grinned. "Sure, we have time," she told him, smiling. "Oh gosh let's just hope that mom and dad don't find out about this," she laughed.
((Finish then have them go?))
"Yes, about you. Lets just say an interview. With my father. And he is very thorough. And that is if you've survived my mother," she laughed.

Tess blushed as he kissed her on the cheek. She raised an eyebrow. "Well my mother would love you, so she wouldn't give you too much of a hard time," Tess told him, smiling. "Now it's my dad that you'd have to convince."
Tess laughed. "Well I know some people where their dad is easygoing and their mother is the strict one," she pointed out. Tess blushed when he called her cute. "Well the only guy he hasn't interviewed is Chip. But he's lived in the castle for a long time, so my dad trusts him," Tess told Miles. She laughed. "But he's the one that used to teach me to play the drums in the middle of the night, so I wonder why my dad hasn't talked to him yet!"
Tess laughed and slid her hand in his. "Yes, he doesn't. We've kept it like that," she admitted. Tess snorted. "As long as you're not a jerk, he most likely will. And you're far from being a jerk," Tess told him. She pulled him along. "We should get going to the park," Tess said with a smile on her face.

Davina sat down at one of the booths facing a window. She picked up the menu, eyeing the ice cream flavors on it.
