Karen A. Wyle (kawyle) | 62 comments Does anyone here have recent experience re how long it takes, after one approves a proof on CreateSpace, for the paperback to go "live" on Amazon? I vaguely recall that it's taken about 1-1/2 to 2 days: is that currently accurate?

Thanks!

Karey I think mine took about 4 days.
Oh, and congratulations! It's a huge endeavor you've taken on, writing, editing, perfecting (again & again), finalizing a cover, basically...you wore ALL hats!!
All the very best to the debut of your story/book!!

Sarah Barra (sarahbarra) | 2 comments Hi!
Mine was in like 3 days. I edited as many times as I could (following CreateSpace rules) so it could be out soon.
Good luck!

Karey Did you also order the printed 'proof' as your final edit? Makes a HUGE difference vs., what you see on the monitor. Plus, later, MUCH later, that one-of-a-kind proof might be worth something :D

Regina Shelley (reginas) | 12 comments I don't release mine as being available until I've gone over the printed proof with a microscope. You will find stuff you want to fix.

Sometimes, I find the data transfer brings with it some formatting issues that have to be fixed. I have found chapters out of order. That's probably user error, but still. Got to know about it in order for fix it.

Karey Mine was the carryover of ellipses and end quotes. Nothing will set your teeth on edge like end quotes showing up on the next line *screams*

Regina Shelley (reginas) | 12 comments Yeah. Spell check will NOT catch your widows and orphans.

Karey In my Kindle version, spellcheck ALSO missed Thrity.
Yup.
Chapter Thrity Six.

Epic fail.
Embarrassment to the highest degree.
Thank dogs & cats it was caught BEFORE the paperback version.
*facepalm*
