SaraFair I am calling this a future book although it isn't too far into the future. It sounds as if all of the US organizations that put this guy in space are basically set up the same as now, but they are using more advanced info and have obviously done a trip to Mars. Wow is it engrossing and fun, mostly because of the likeability and personality of the Martian himself. CANNOT WAIT for the movie. Doesn't matter if it isn't as good as the book, I just want to see the set up with my eyes in addition to using my imagination with the book.

Silvia Turcios | 304 comments I am reading this right now for the week of "a book that became a movie", I also think that Mark (the Martian) is really funny, but sometimes I cannot understand what he is talking about hahaha

SaraFair I finished it today, Silvia...it was great! I did the same as you and just skipped the difficult calculations and vocabulary words in my mind. I think I still got the just of it all, don't you?

Sophie (sawphie) I absolutely LOVED this book, the funny parts and the sciency parts. I'm glad I watched the movie trailer only after finishing the book, because it spoils so much of the story!

SaraFair I watched the movie trailer too. It was so cool to see the inside of the Hab! I also skipped over to IMDB to see the actors that were going to play the people in the book. That way I could sort of put a face to each one.

Hahaha like if I am reading and in my mind just listen "blabla-blabla" like the adults talk in Peanuts :D, well sometimes, but actually I have learned a couple of things, not so much, but I have! I have read just 50% of the book, but I am enjoying it a lot :)
