Nathan Wall (goodreadscomnathanwall) | 169 comments In order to accommodate some blogs that will be reviewing my books, I am trying to convert my book into mobi format. However, when I put it through the converter, it comes out in a weird layout. It will put random line breaks where they don't exist in the original document.

Example: I was running through the forest

picking up flowers when I came upon a fair maiden. Her

hair was like

silk and shone like the sun.

Just like that. It doesn't make sense. I've been converting two books. Book 1 gets the weird format, but book 2 is fine. When I upload to kindle and download from their, both books look fine.

I'm trying to save 15 bucks by not having to pay for a bunch of different copies that I can just send for free. Does anyone know what's going on, or have experienced this issue in the past?

Thanks.

What are you using for an input format and which converter?

I use caliber and sometimes it works to change the input format. For example, if you're using MS Word, try saving it in another input format and see if that works.

Ed Morawski | 54 comments You say it's fine when you upload and download from Kindle? Then why not just use the Kindle file? It is .mobi right? .Mobi is the Kindle format.

You can download the preview of your file from Kindle and that will be the .mobi.
