I've just finished Things Fall Apart by Achebe. Short, simplistic, gripping in parts and I liked the narrator but didn't like the book enough to want to read anything else by Achebe.

Dale Dean | 1 comments I haven't read that but as my book challenge dictates i will have to read it at some point. I intend to read all booker prize nominees, longlisted included.

I have just finished Narcopolis by Jeet Thayil which was wonderful. I am currently reading The Children Of Dynmouth by William Trevor.

Laura | 13 comments I've just finished John Banville's The Sea, this is what I thought:
I enjoyed Banville's use of language, it was quite a calming and a relaxing book, although the depressing story matter was a bit of a downer.

I'm glad the book ended as it did, I was sort of worried that it wasn't going anywhere so I'm glad that it delivered, it reminded me of Julian Barnes's The Sense of an Ending.

Interested to read more by Banville, although please don't let it be as depressing!
