I'm dividing this book into thirds as, although it's long, the type is a lot larger than Erikson's books and it's already split up into book 1, 2 and 3 within the book. This is the thread for Book III of the book right through to the end so feel free to discuss everything throughout the whole book and let us know all of your thoughts!

How does it compare to the previous book and the Erikson books?

I liked this one way better than Night of Knives - that's for sure.

This book was way better than the first book. I liked the direction the book went and I think the third will be even better. Some shocking moments especially Laseen's end and Tayschrenn(I didn't see that coming), really liked Kyle and I think the princess is going to be running for a longtime to escape Moss. I also think Mallick has the potential to be a really interesting emperor(I wonder if he will promote war and growth + expansion of the empire like the Laseen? we shall see).

Overall huge improvement from the Night of knives.
