What are your favourite excerpts from books?

NOTE: Authors can share quotes from their own books as well :-)

Here are some quotes from my book:

The One for Me The One for Me by Ramla Zareen Ahmad

https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes...

Hope you like them!

Thank you :-)

ALSO ...

Recently an award-winning, sweet romance author, Jessie Gussman, featured my book The One for Me in her newsletter, and she also included the first chapter as a sneak preview. Just thought I'd share it with you guys in case you'd like to read it :-)

'Don't leave me, Bertie. I'm lost.'
'What do you mean, lost?'
'I came out for a walk and suddenly discovered after a mile or two that I didn't know where on earth I was. I've been wandering round in circles for hours.'
'Why didn't you ask the way?'
'I can't speak a word of French.' ...
'Well, why didn't you call a taxi?'
'I suddenly discovered that I've left all my money in my hotel.'
'You could have taken a cab and paid it when you got to the hotel.'
'Yes, but I suddenly discovered, dash it, that I'd forgotten it's name."
We drifted to one of the eleven cafes which jostled each other along the street and I ordered restoratives.
'What on earth are you doing in Paris?'
'Bertie, old man,' said Biffy solemnly, 'I came here to try and forget.'
'Well, you've certainly succeeded.'

"Life would be a lot easier if conversations were rewindable and erasable, like videos. Or if you could instruct people to disregard what you just said, like in a courtroom."

HR-ML (hr-movielover) The Last Rake In London
The heroine's sister, Connie, stays in trouble and makes rude
comments and is oblivious to her own snobbery.

The H's Great-Aunt Otto calls Connie "a spiteful empty-headed
china doll."
