I've loved C L Stone's Scarab Beetle and Ghost Bird series so am very happy to find this group.

Other series which are also RH with a true RH HEA that I know of are all more adult and Fantasy or PNR or SFR such as :

1- Merry Gentry series by Laurell K Hamilton
2- Queen of Merab series by Violet Summers ( has hints of MM action). Completed.
3- Blood Moon Rising series by Karin Tabke. Trilogy complete.
4- Godhunter series by Amy Sumida
5- Cyberevolution series by Kaitlyn O'Connor
6- Wolfen series by Madelaine Montague
7- Thieves series by Lexi Blake ( has hints of MM action). Story finished at 5 books.
8- Deep Space Mission Corps series by Tymber Dalton ( all the 3 guys are bisexual and involved with each other as well as the h)
9- Leashed series by Jet Mykles ( Has MM relationship, but the guys also fall for h)

and many others.

10- Electric Series (A Raven Investigations Novel Books 1-3) by Stacey Brutger Electric Series by Stacy Brutger is yet to be finished but seems to be heading the RH way. The PNR worlduilding is intriguing though the writing leaves much to be desired:(

17. Spearwood Academy by AS Oren. I read Spearwood: Book One and Spearwood Book 1.5: A Dragon Shifter Series, bk2 is supposed to be out in June 2016, they're definitely RH, around NA-ish and I loved them!

18. Lilith Mercury Werewolf hunter series by Tracey H Kitts. Its a 7 book completed RH series with one h and 3 guys. I read it and enjoyed it a lot!

19. Wings of Artemis duet by Rebecca Royce. h is married to 6 guys!

message 7: by Megan (new)

Megan (meganevangelina) | 1 comments Finding my Pack by Lane Whitt it's book one and book two is due out on the 30th of June. It's good but touches on some "trigger" topics so watch out for that.

Alyson (glynnbugg) | 16 comments Hey! Did you guys see there's a new series up for pre-order called Sixes and Sevens? I have no idea who the author is (GE Kelly) but it might be worth a look. it comes out in August.

Richelle Harrington | 3 comments I read the sixes and sevens, it actually sort of reminded me of CL Stones books, took awhile to get into it but I think the next book will be better!

Richelle Harrington | 3 comments Also not sure if this series has been mentioned yet but the Stardust Series by Autumn Reed and Julia Clarke is also about to come out with book#3. Book 1 is called Phoenix.

Richelle Harrington | 3 comments Check out the other books by A.S. Oren besides her Spearwood books also because I think they all will be RH as well. She only has a few out right now but they come out every few months so the wait isn't very long. There is two different "Gates" series going on right now.

Thanks Richelle!

20. The Ravager Chronicles by Sara Page

Its an ongoing SFR RH series. Bk1 Princess SOS has the h with one hero and by bk3 she has 4 H's. Bk3 released recently but I'm hoping for more. The books are great and I enjoyed them very much both the world building and characters, plus they're hot!

Apparently Laura Jo Phillips 's Hearts of Icarus series is an RH series, at least according to the Amazon description. If anyone has read it, can they confirm?

SSBSMS | 10 comments C.L. Stone has really spoiled me. I haven't been able to get enough of RH series since I no longer have to suffer from bouncing between who I want the lead to end up with. I'm so glad this discussion exists. lol I just finished the Thieves series up to book 5.

Lucy Paxon | 7 comments Hi, everyone! I'm an author and I just started a new scifi-romance reverse harem series. It's four royals all gunning for one gal. I'm thrilled to find y'all! I didn't even know there were fans organized around RH. I hereby formally vow to not be a dick author if you let me stay. :) I.e., you can rag on my stuff all you want.

I'm worried the first one's too short, but I wanted to get it out there to gauge interest. Unless I get the impression that readers think it sucks, I'm going to keep going.

Wild Pride (The Kingson Pride, #1) by Kristen Banet Wild Pride was okay

So was A Harmony of Hearts (The Spellsinger, #3) by Amy Sumida A Harmony of Hearts

The Dragon's Wing (Kit Davenport, #2) by Tate James The Dragon's Wing was okay and I'm planning to start LC Hibbett's next.

SSBSMS, I was meaning to ask if the Auryn Hadley series had a lot of violence in it or abuse? Thats kind of a trigger for me.

Also has anyone read Heiress of Darkness: Magic Reborn #2 Heiress of Light Magic Reborn (Reverse Harem) by Ashlyn Allbrook - was it any good?

message 34: by SSBSMS (new)

Does anyone feel a lot of authors are piggy backing on the success that RH has seen this year?

RH is topping the Amazon bestsellers consistently, but now I'm seeing menage romance authors relabelling their books as RH - Eve Langlais or Lily Harlem or Frankie Love. I don't think these authors are even bothered to learn the difference( I may be wrong! -since I haven't read any of these books)

But now books which are plain gangbang porn -or whatever its called - their newbie authors are labelling these as RH and getting away with it.

I think they're doing it bcos thats a popular category now and more people buy it/see it. I need my RH fix often otherwise I get fidgety.

Today I had a bad experience with an RH book's sample I downloaded(recent release). It jumped in with the H calling his hot secretary in and making him blow her in the office and the woman wasn't even the h!
The writing was explicit and demeaning and was more eroticaish. It had a lot of reviews too.
I can say for sure, now I'm really careful about taking a book at its word - even when it says reverse harem in its description.

Yasmin | 7 comments Talltree wrote: "Does anyone feel a lot of authors are piggy backing on the success that RH has seen this year?

I'm not sure how popular RH is becoming. But I do know that often if the book is categorized as adult, It would be filled with erotica.

Young adult as the genre implies doesn't have erotica. Although sometimes there is some hot steamy scenes.

I think safer to stick to Young Adults to avoid the gangfest full of just sex with no plot.

But I still think many Adult RH categories are worth the read. Many have good story lines too.

Recommendation from friends and from this group could be another best way to avoid horrible books.

message 44: by Marguerite (M) (new)

Marguerite (M) I don't mind when it's erotica but i've read a few of them lately that were borderline porn.
Like you said, it's a pretext to have some explicit 3/4/5/6some and i'm finding myself skipping two thirds of the book because i have enough sex stuff with only the three first chapters.
The thing is that I love RH because authors build the relationships and it's damn awesome. With the new "rh" sex trend, i don't get enough of it, only lots and lots of steamy stuff :(

message 45: by Talltree (new)

Talltree | 121 comments Mod
I love the smut in my romance too, but it has to be there along with the relationship building. Merry Gentry, Venomous, Jeanette Lynn or Sara Page's Ravager books are hot but also great RH because the relationship building - with each of the H's - and the worldbuilding as well are so great!

Even if its NA romance I like sex in it. The only exception is Sang and thats because CL Stone makes every touch count!

Okay can we share books that we found porny here?

I tried samples of One Bride for Five Brothers by Jess Bentley and Overtime An Office Reverse Harem Romance by Dark Angel - both were just an excuse for porn. not recommended for RH readers.

In general any book with one girl surrounded by lots of uncovered male chests, I mostly pass on...

@Yasmin, RH books are topping the Amazon bestsellers in several categories( fantasy, paranormal etc) That explains why more authors want to jump on this bandwagon!

message 46: by WinterOrchid (new)

WinterOrchid | 1 comments Ok, I love RH, but I agree with some of the comments, sometimes the label RH is just an excuse for porn (to each their own, no judgement), but here are some of the books and series that I feel live up to the RH title without sacrificing writing or plot.

Rise of the Iliri series by Auryn Hadley (amazing writer and phenomenal series for anyone who likes great world building and complex 3D characters-some violence, but nothing PNR or Fantasy readers would be put off by)

Pieces of her Soul series by Serena Lindahl- only two books out, but both surprising in their awesomeness, straddles the NA line without sub-coming to the genre's tenancy towards weak main characters)

Amy Sumida's Twilight Kingdom series - 7th book just came out. These are a fun read and a slow burn RH. I like her Godhunter series too, but got a little fed up with the ever growing harem...

Finding Somewhere to Belong by C.C. Masters- this was another surprise find of 2017, but totally worth it. You can tell it will be a slow burn and still waiting avidly for the second book, but too good to pass up.

Academy of Assassins by Stacey Brutger - loved, LOVED, the first book, but still have a few reservations for the continued series (her other Electric series frustrates me with it's lack of character development despite 5 or 6 books being out.)

Brother of the Flame by Ariel Kimber- sweet NA, looking forward to how the author develops the story, not too sickly sweet.

Curse of the God series by Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington- hilarious (like embarrassing LOL in public moments) and good characters- 3 books currently

Emma Jaye's Hybrid series - multiple main characters in this novella series, a little intense on the adult contact, but I love the gladiatrix storyline

Cherise Sinclair's Wild Hunt series - all mfm not full RH, but totally worth it if you want your romance to have plot and character.

A Rational Arrangement by L. Rowyn - this is a truly unique and wonder mmf story- I highly recommend it to anyone who loves complex characters finding love.

Laurell K Hamilton's series' are good, but error from the ever growing harem problem (have a hard time believing in the relationship when I have to chart out the characters and who they are sleeping with)

Venomous by Penelope Fletcher-a good sci-fi RH.

There are lots more RH books out there, but these are some that have stood out to me over the years.
