Nardinragab | 25 comments you could try Dark Wager , hero was sooo mean coz he thought heroine loved another , he made a wager right before their marriage that he would keep mistresses and do whatever he likes after tying her with marriage

KatieV | 112 comments Robards' pirate series had a hero who was always going off the deep end of jealousy. Island Flame and Sea Fire. Over the course of both books he threatens, kidnaps, and cheats once just to hurt the heroine out of his misguided jealousy.

Jeff Young (CityBoy) | 18 comments Hi everyone.
I tried to post a question but kept getting an error message saying the context cannot be blank. That made no sense because I wrote a question in the context box. It must be a program glitch.
Here's my question for all.

I am seeking from anyone a list of classic bodice ripper novels that fit the following:
1) Must be written by real women authors, not by male authors using a female pseudonym.
2) Must be completely non-politically correct. These were typically among the earliest bodice ripper novels where the women authors explored and projected their deepest, furthest and darkest feminine libidos, no matter how far down the rabbit hole.
Thanks and Happy New Year.
Jeff

You can check out our group bookshelf. You just need to look around and do some research. Also, modern erotica would be your best bet.

Hope this helps. :)

Jeff Young (CityBoy) | 18 comments Hi everyone. Happy New Year.

Yes, bodice ripper romance novels are a bygone niche of the romance novels genre.
But has any writer attempted a modern bodice ripper novel, written in the same graphic, lurid, sexual style as the 70s versions? Let's say, modern, in the time period, 1990s to 2015.
Best wishes, all.
Jeff

Internet research and actual reading potential material would likely bring more results in. That's the thing about particular preferences or reading interests; you pretty much toe-test and hope something comes up. We have to actually do the legwork to uncover the new BR authors, and do the fieldwork ourselves. Personally, I know of none that have pulled it off convincingly.

message 13: by KatieV (new)

KatieV | 112 comments I haven't found one yet either. Claiming the Courtesan is likely the most famous example of a modern BR, but it fell short for me. Virtue and Vice was another. Not saying the authors didn't try and YMMV, of course, but IMHO too much modern sensibilities and amateur psychology in the recent ones. Perhaps it's impossible for a modern woman to truly really recapture that era.

If anything, I know more ladies capable of writing such selective genres, than I've uncovered firsthand. >:D They know who they are, they know what I want from 'em. I'm channeling my suicidal Tumblrina core in protest until they succumb to my selfish demands. >:D

Marwajan | 14 comments i'm going back to th original topic in de Demon's Captive (War Tribe, #1) by Stephanie Snow hero whipped heroine and did other things , also run by Eve voughn contains a kind of humilliating scene by hero because he was jealous

Jeff Young (CityBoy) | 18 comments I learned long ago that some bodice ripper historical romance novels were written by male authors under a female pseudonym. I want to ask you readers out there. Does it make a difference to you? Maybe it doesn't for female readers. But speaking only for myself, I don't particularly like that, especially if a man writer is posing as a woman. I've read but a few bodice ripper historical romance novels and prefer a genuine woman writer behind the book. It seems more, 'genuine' to me and the fact that a real woman writer is expressing her own imagination and passions in her own words. Best wishes all, Jeff

- I've been told that the heroine loses their baby when the hero attacks her in a fit of jealous rage.

I don't care about the editing Felicia . I just like this theme a lot and I find the story strong with it and I still would like someone who 've read the book to give a spoiler .

I liked Forced by the Greek Tycoon and Seduction and Humiliatioin. The end of the story is on the third book Raji, the second will only leave you with a cliffhanger.
