I'll do mine first :)
I'm Laura and I'm from Charleston, South Carolina. I'm a Realtor and have a sweet golden retriever puppy named Maggie (who is crazy but adorable). I love reading and I enjoy a variety of different books. I've been focusing more on classics lately because I feel like I appreciate them more now that I am older. My favorite book is the Great Gatsby and I my favorite Gilmore Girls episode is Nick & Nora/ Sid & Nancy- although I love most of them. :)

That is how I went from hate, to love.
Aside from reading, I write letters to pen pals, work full-time and go to college part-time. I started journaling when I was 12 and have been keeping a journal ever since.
The Rory Gilmore Challenge will be a challenge for me. I have poor reading comprehension and I hope to improve my critical thinking. I don't have a favorite author nor do I have a favorite book but I hope that changes during my reading journey.
Thank you, Suzanne.

I started watching Gilmore Girls when it first premiered and I guess I was in high school. I love the show so much and I loved Rory with Jess. I can't wait for the revival. I'm like the only person in my group of friends who likes GG my best friend makes fun of me for being a fan haha. So I'm glad I can meet you all here in this group and we can share something in common. :)

I loved the Gilmore girls and watch the series at least once a year. I know I have a problem.

I have been reading 10 books from the Rory Gilmore list every year for the past 2 years. Last year Sylvia Plath's Journals really tripped me up.
This is so exciting to have a venue to do this challenge with others.

My name is Giovanna, I'm 20 years old and from Brazil. Even though portuguese is my native language, I'm used to read books in english and I can't wait to participate in this challenge! I've read part of the list already, but now I want to try harder, read even more titles and I think this is a great way to do it.
I used to watch GG with my mom when I was little, but we stopped when I was about 9 years old. Later, with 16, I decided to watch again on my own. I soon realized how much I had in common with Rory: my passion for books, my kind of shyness, my grades and my major and my doubts when i got into college.
Almost five years later, I'm now a journalist, just like Rory, and I've come to realize how I grew up with her, even though i watched the series after it originally aired.
She's part of my past life and an inspiration and a reminder to what I still want to become and accomplish in the future! :)

I didn't start watching GG until 2010 or 2011 on DVD. Love it!

I'm Brenda and I live in Spain. I'm studying English at university, I've always been a book addict. Nowadays, what I enjoy the most are classics. My currently favourite books are Frankenstein and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I adored watching the Gilmore Girls with my mum because I felt related to Rory. When I found out there was a reading challenge like this I definitely wanted to join in. This group seems like an interesting way to do it. :)

I think I related most to Rory with a few bits of Lorelai tossed in there for good measure. Some of my favorite episodes include S1's The Deer Hunters, S4's The Lorelais' First Day at Yale, & the start of Luke & Lorelai in S4's inn opening epis. Though I really didn't like the Rory-Dean deal very much. I like that the show went there, it was an important part of Rory's character. It was just a cringe-inducing season for me.
Oh, I can't forget Rory's graduation speech she gives at Chilton. One of my favorite moments.
I've always been a big reader. Whenever Lorelai would say something about how many books Rory would tote around my mom would just give me a look and laugh. You never know what you might feel like reading though imo!
Unfortunately I was sick for a few years and kind of fell out of sorts with my usual reading addiction for a bit. Last year I got on here and got back into things though so I figured it would be a good time to really look into reading books off this list. I've read several but there's plenty to go.

I'm Marie from Germany, 25 years old. I'm studying law and am currently in my finals period, so unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to read (except law books obviously^^).
In my childhood I read excessively, but mainly fantasy and when forced to read what you would call "literature" in school, I hated it.
When watching Gilmore Girls for the first time, I identified with Rory (as apparently all of you ;) ), and soon got the idea to read the books she read and apparently enjoyed.
It has been two years since, and my reading habits have changed - I barely read fantasy anymore, and I even choose to read "literature" which isn't on the list.
I have never been part of a bookclub before, and since I don't have any friends who like to read, I'm not really used to discussing books, but I'm really looking forward to it :)

but let me assure you, that I am enjoying it! :)
I still read some fantasy, but not as much, and it just isn't as rewarding somehow.
I think I'm just in a different "genre phase" now, as you phrased it. ;)

I'm Alessandra and I write from Italy.
I used to enjoy GG at its first appearance on the Italian television and this summer I found it broadcast again, so I recollected all the pleasant feelings that GG has always inspired to me.
I would say I'm a bookish person. I don't share with Rory her general discipline, but I do understand her sense of living others lives through books, this is why I relate to her more than Lorelai or anyone else in the show.
I like being here, on this group, because of the common interest to the show and because I like meeting people from different places of the world. And also, I hope to improve my English practicing it with you all!

My name is Carolin, I am from Germany (Bayern), 33 years old and am a huge bookworm. I can't live without books and always take at least one book with me.
After some years I rewatched the GilmoreGirls series again with the goal to read every book that has been mentioned in the serial. Some I have read already but there are a lot more left! :-)
This group and its members sound so lovely that I just HAD to join - I hope there will be a lot of book discussions with all of you, and get to know more bookworms like me. So send me a message whenever you like - I'm looking forward to it!
Have a nice day!
:-D

I'm Cayla from Austin, Texas.
I've been lost in the new year on what to read and then I stumbled upon the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge and further research lead me here! I am so excited that this group exists and is currently active. I absolutely cannot wait to participate.

Thanks x

Last year I started collecting books from Rory's list I hadn't read - and now I have this group to help me along.

Hi all! You can call me angel. I am a HUGE fan of Gilmore Girls and I cannot wait for the new episodes they are making!

my name is Tanja from Croatia living in Germany. Watched Gilmore Girls numerous time. Looking forward to new episodes.
I have read many of the books from the list but decided to read all (or most) of the books again. Started last month and so far read 7. Some of them at loud with my son, and hoping he will be a book/gilmore girls fan when older. (I apologise for any mistakes in my English. It is my third language)

I am Laura and from Kentucky. I am a huge fan of the Gilmore Girls and just started rewatching all the seasons on Netflix. I am currently on Season 4.
I have a degree in English Lit and am passionate about books and love how books were intertwined into the story line of the show and Rory's character. I can't wait to get to know you all and join in the discussions.

I'm Carol and I live in Brisbane Australia. I have to confess I have never watched the Gilmore Girls but I love reading and enjoy a challenge. I have heaps of favourites but a few that stand out are The Kite Runner and The God of Small things

My name is Shevaun, and I'm currently attending the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada, for my Master's in Library and Information Science (I want to be an academic librarian).
I watched the Gilmore Girls as a teenager and always envied Rory's seemingly inexhaustible supply of books. I've been chipping away at the Gilmore list for years, and I've read quite a few of them, but it's always nice to keep up with goals with a community! Some of my favorites are "On the Road", Dorothy Parker's short stories, "The Count of Monte Cristo" (which isn't on the list for some reason, although that definitely seems like a Gilmore book), and multiple others.
