Ebba (ebba_grondahl) So I just finished reading 'The fault in our stars' and before that I was really looking forward to see the movie, but know I'm scared to see what they have done with it. The book is so amazing and if you watch the trailer and have read the book, everything just seems upside down! Please, feel free to share your thoughts around the movie and the book! :)

By the way, sorry for my english, swedish girl nere! :) John Green

Sam | 606 comments So looking forward to reading the book and seeing the movie :D definitely will be reading it soon. By the way your English is great! Even people who are English speaking don't know how to spell most of the time... I'm speaking about myself :) thank heavens for spell check!

Same here! I own the book in fact...but I have not started it yet since I know it will be a tough one to get through! I have heard only good things, but at the same time it will be an emotional one for sure! One of these days I will get to bravery up to give it a go! :D

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I need to read this before I watch the movie. But I can't seem to make myself do it. :\

Sam | 606 comments I'm the same coz I know I'm gonna cry!! Haha

I have totally been putting this one off since I know I will cry...A LOT! I even own it...for like 3 months now!! haha

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments Well, it's not that I'll cry. I just... idk, I'm not feeling it. I get this way when a book receives a ton of hype.

message 8: by Jen (new)

Jen (jendevenecia) Heartbreak! :( I read and finished the book in the office. Couldn't help but cry!!!

I love Ansel Elgort! He looks so hot in the pictures from the scenes of the movie. But isn't a bit weird that Ansel and Shailene Woodley are siblings in Divergent turned lovers in TFIOS???

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments ^ And Shailene and Miles Teller are love interests in The Spectacular Now while they're arch enemies in Divergent.

There are so many places I have cried while reading!! The worst was college freshman English! I was a MESS!! haha

I thought he looked familiar!! Didn't bother playing on IMDB though, but good to know he is the same guy. I wonder if they thought that was weird...or maybe they were just good friends so it was no big deal? I think if they had been siblings first and THEN lovers, that might have been a little harder since they would already have a more brother sister relationship... Or maybe it did go that way... I don't know!! haha

Clearly I need to spend more time on IMDB!! I am missing out on all these webs and what not!

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments ^ LOL I love playing all the webs. Passes the time. XD

message 13: by Re (new)

Re | 1 comments I feel like the movie will be a total understatement of the book itself!! The book was REALLY great, probably the best I've read so far. That, and the perks of being a wallflower. That movie was almost spot on with the book.

message 14: by Jade (new)

Jade (ihavenosociallife) | 1 comments I've read the book recently and watched the trailer again, I've noticed they changed hazels attitude towards gus outside the literal heart of Jesus and where she was when issac egged Monica's car. I hope they don't change to much I'm looking forward to the movie

message 15: by Clary (new)

Clary (clary_ruby) | 7 comments Ok, I have read and adore the book. I have also watched the trailer countless times and love it! Hope the movie is as good as it looks in the trailer!

message 16: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Still waiting on a copy to free up at the library. With 5 books out, you would think the wait wouldn't be as long. Yeah right! Just when on the library account today, and saw that I am #3 om the waitlist...guess they ordered more copies. The e-book hold list is moving at a snails pace.

I'm excited to read John Green's writing, he has created a gold mine with all his novels!

message 17: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sophie_loves_books) | 7 comments I liked this book a lot! Excited to see what the film will be like, but still can't get over the divergent incest... :P

message 18: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments haha I can't wait either. I'm seeing the moviee this Wednesday! woot!

message 19: by Ruby (new)

Ruby (rubiechan) I can't wait for the tfios movie! I'm pretty sure it's going to be amazing !! My cousin is visiting and since she read the book we will be seeing the movie together. I sobbed while reading the book and even just watching the trailer ! Oh no, I'll be an emotional wreck.

I was watching some interviews online and they said that John Green cried the most during the production of and just watching the movie alone ! (: I'll probably be a John Green in the theater!

message 20: by Alexis (new)

Alexis Bryant | 4 comments By the trailer it looks like it is going to be Close to the book!! When I watched the trailer I cried! Can't wait for the movie!!

message 22: by Louisa (new)

Louisa Knight | 156 comments I loved the book, I'm still debating whether the film is going to be as good. I have a feeling that it could be though!

message 23: by Rikke (last edited Jun 03, 2014 03:00AM) (new)

Rikke (bjerregaarden) I read the book a couple of weeks ago, and saw the movie yesterday - (of cause) it wasn't as good as the book, but the entire cinema cried a couple of times, and overall I think they did a really great job! I was a bit nervous about Ansel Elgort, because I had pictured Gus a lot different, but he played SO WELL - thumps up to him (and the rest of the cast actually)
I would definitely recommend the movie although, again, the book is better ;)

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
I think as soon as I finish my current read I am finally going to tackle this book. I know it will be emotional so I keep putting it off, but I think it is officially time! haha Not sure when I will get out to see the movie though.... I am more of an action film person, so I don't plan on seeing this until I get to see Edge of Tomorrow(based on the book All You Need is Kill!)

message 25: by Rachel (last edited Jun 03, 2014 10:38AM) (new)

Rachel I don't know if you guys receive emails from Hot Topic (I only signed up for it because it's one of my go to places to buy gifts for my brother)...anyway, they have a huge collection of merchandise for the book, and if you buy it online for a limited time you can get a pack of fault in our stars kleenex. Umm...guess it's a really sad book and movie if they are using the marketing gimic of kleenex.

Hahahahaha!! that is hilarious!! I might need to look into that for my friend that is super into the book... Although by the time I would get them in she would have already seen it. I could always save it for her and give it to her with the movie when it comes out! Oh man, that would be awesome!! lol

message 27: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sophie_loves_books) | 7 comments Who do you guys think is hotter? Theo or Ansel? :P
(I'm definitely a Theo girl) :P

message 28: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments I'm a Theo girl too! but that might change as i'm seeing tfios movie at 6.30pm tonight!!! can't wait :P dont worry I have like 5 huge hankies! didn't think the tissues would cut it!

message 29: by Sheena (new)

Sheena I'm a Theo girl, but Ansel has a certain charm about him that's kind of captivating. :-)

I have already planned on going to the last showing of the evening for the TFIOS movie because if I cry even half as much as I did on the book, my eyes are going to be so red and swollen, I won't be fit for public lol. :-P

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Do you have a kindle or anything? I only paid around $7 for it on my kindle.

message 32: by Aimee (new)

Aimee | 29 comments Just watched the movie like 12 hrs ago. Holey man it is sooo good!

message 33: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments It was good wasn't it! I liked it very much, just didn't like the very young girls excited cry when Ansel came on the screen for the first time, and the excited cry when he took his top off, and the crying in general from the audience. I will be buying it on DVD so I can watch without all the extra soundtrack hahaha

message 34: by Aimee (new)

Aimee | 29 comments Yes! All these girls going 'awww' and 'arggh' at him!! Buying dvd especially for deleted scenes.

message 35: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments oh yeah hope they have them avaliable on the DVD. love deleted scenes :D

message 36: by Louisa (new)

message 38: by Sheena (new)

Sheena I can't wait to see it now! :-)

message 39: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Hume I just started the book today. And it's very good so far. You have all said the movie was great so I have to watch it too. I didn't know much about this book until I picked it up the other day. I also didn't realize we were reading it for June. (My job was very busy in May. I had no life. Lol) I had just picked the book up on a whim and I glad I did. Happy reading everyone. Today is a prefect day to do so. Here is Ontario Canada anyways. Hot, sunny, gorgeous.

message 40: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 91 comments Tfios book was utterly amazing! I haven't seen the movie et which makes me very disappointed :(. The book made me feel much better about my life and how grateful I should be for my healthy life. Before this book I knew that, yes, many people were in a rough state. But for some reason hearing it said over and over wasn't enough to convince me my life was good. Then I read tfios. Cancer is an invisible attacker that leads people to a long and suffering death. Augustus and Hazel Grace were happy, then boom. Life is a precious thing that should be cherished

message 41: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Hume I find it gives and interesting perspective on life. They made the best of the short time they had. I truly does make you think about your own life, what you have and who you have.

message 42: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 91 comments Truly it does! Books like this one make me so happy I discovered them!

message 43: by Sheena (new)

Sheena I went and saw the movie this weekend and I loved it! It was so sad, duh, but I think they did a fairly good job of converting it over to a movie.

Of course no book-to-movie movie will ever be *perfect* to a fan girl, but I didn't walk away from the movie disappointed in the least!

I loved Ansel as Augustus. So, even though the entire theater and I cried our eyes out, I enjoyed it! I'm a glutton for punishment I guess lol. :-)

message 44: by Louisa (new)

Louisa Knight | 156 comments Haha the book to film conversions will never be perfect! But I really want to see the film of tfios, I'm getting quite restless that I haven't seen it.

message 45: by Sheena (new)

Sheena I was a little bit evil. I brought my friend to see it with me. She has never read the book, and other than knowing it's supposed to be sad, she had no idea what it was about.

She cried so much and told me how much she hated me repeatedly for not forewarning her lol.

message 46: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 91 comments I haven't seen it either by rumor has it that the movie was terrible... But I feel like it would be good though. #alittleconfused

message 47: by Alma (new)

Alma (almajohansson) | 8 comments First, I read this book in Swedish (my first language) and I thought it was all right, not amazing or bad, just okay - but then I read it in English and just wow. I fell in love with it. I read it in two days and I cried so much. I cry when I see the trailer and when I looks at photos at tumblr. And yes, I'm a cryer. This is the absolute most beautiful book I've ever read. I haven't seen the movie jet, because it's not in Sweden until 22th June, but I will see it as soon as possible.
