The House of Hades question

I agree with a lot of the comments. Nico may have not had to fight a lot of the monsters like Percy and Annabeth, but he saw Tartarus in its real form the whole time. We also dont know how long he was in T , we just know that he was there since the end of neptune to the end of athena, Percy and Annabeth fell on their anniversary and were saved at the end of hades. I personally think they went through the same in TARTARUS, but nico went through more as a person, his mother dying, his sister dying, rejected because he was a child of hades, the labyrinth, and on top of that the fact that he was struggling with his sexuality. I love nico sm i hope he gets some recognition from both camps. Also remember when renya shared his pain. His pain was stronger that an entire legion. I just want him to get a happy ending with will and the camp. and i cant be the only one who thinks that leo and nico couldve had a really good friendship(i dont ship them) both have a lot in common, lost someone they loved, feel like they dont belong etc. He also was alone through EVERYTHING. up until he met hazel he was alone

Nio mentions he was overwhelmed almost immediately, so he wasn't there very long surviving on his own. It's not really clear how long he was there, but most of his experience there seems to have been in captivity (which is how he survived; he was being kept alive so that he could be served as bait). It's not stated when he given to the giants and put in the jar.

That is just completely wrong. Well according to the real story-
*Nico- He was consumed by Tartarus, and he saw it in Real form, not in his physical body form, but the form Percy experienced just before he got almost dead in HoH. Nico experienced THIS form, and that's why he got overwhelmed and got captured by the giants, who took him back to the mortal world and made him captive.

*Percabeth- Honestly, they'd be completely dead Many times if not for Bob, Damasen and even Small Bob. It took a good Titan, a good giant, and a skeleton cat to Percabeth to reach the Doors of Death (the most dangerous part of Tartarus) and get out of the Tartarus without being captured for once.

I honestly consider them as equals. Powers of Percabeth (together)= Powers of Nico.

BUT Tolerance of Nico >> Tolerance of Percabeth

And the moral we get from these two experiences- Tartarus is NOT good for Demigods!

people don't like Nico all the time because he's so different and he's kind of a forgotten character sometimes I hate it because Nico fights the world alone and never gets credit

I understand where you're coming from really, but you also need to remember the difference between their times in Tartarus. We can assume Percy and Annabeth spent a longer time in Tartarus than Nico did, though by how much isn't clear there. Nico, however saw the true form of Tartarus the entire time he was being held captive there, whereas Annabeth never saw it and Percy only saw it briefly.

But Percy and Annabeth faced off against dozens of monsters, some being a horde of arai, the fury-like monsters and minor goddesses, not to mention Tartarus himself. And they would have been dead if not for Bob and Damasen. But Nico was only held captive in Tartarus, being kept alive to be used as bait. He didn't have any major wounds because he was ambushed before he could fight back.

So, on one hand, we have Percy and Annabeth who almost died while fighting monsters with a watered down version of Tartarus and on the other hand we have Nico, who was held captive with the unaltered version of Tartarus.

I personally think Annabeth and Percy had a rougher experience in Tartarus, but I can see why you were upset that people were saying Percy and Annabeth are stronger than Nico. They literally wouldn't have survived without each other.

Nico : 1. Was a social outcast since he was very young because he liked men and he was raised during the holocaust where gay men were hunted like the jews and nico has known he likes men rom a really young age plus he was raised in a Catholic community in the 1930s so major homophobia that would turamtize him for a long time

2. Being more of a social outcast because he was from the 1930s and a huge boomer a common feeling that he shares with hazel

3. Being even more of a social outcast cause he's a son of hades and has a death aura around him so people are usually afraid of him hazel doesn't have this BTW

4. Lost his mom at a very young age and got too see her death again when he was 11

5. Losing majority of his memories and basically having nothing fond to look back upon and having no identity for a while

6. Feeling abandoned by his sister and then later Losing her and at the time she was the only person who cared about him and he felt her die aswell which he later realized so more turama

7. Being gaslit and manipulated by minos

8. Being rejected by his father

9. Seeing tatrus in his ture form completely unfiltered unlike percebeth who were in the filtered version

8. Being kept in a jar with no oxygen , food and water and hearing the seven debate whether he was worth saving or not in his dream and basically waiting to die from either suffocation or starvation

9. recognizing that the seven are weirded out by him or creeped out by him

10. Getting violently outed by cupid and according to him being gay was equivalent to murder cause he was raised in a time of peak discrimination

11. Losing his first true friend and Feeling gim die

5. Been on multiple live threatening quests

6. Betrayed by Luke who was his 2nd ever friend

7. Holding up the sky

8. The drowning fear he developed and being almost Burried alive

11. Literally everything in tautrus which is alit and takes course over hoh

12. He also lost jason

13. Fought in 2 wars

14. Lost alot of friends

15. Had to hear the gods debate to let him live or die

I get where you are coming from. But I honestly don't think Nico had a harder time. Let's remember that being together with someone doesn't mean things are easier. Plus. While Nico was in the jar for a short while. Percabeth went TROUGH the pit. Sure. Bob helped. But they had to fight misery and such.

I'm not going into big detail. But They went through more life-defining things. and had no outside help. While Nico was RESCUED by the 7 in the end.

I personally think that Percy and Annabeth had a harder time. But Nico might have more traumatic effects because he didn't have anyone. So Mentally yes, Physically? no.

Also. Percy and Annabeth are the most powerful. I know it's plain and such. But these two are the most powerful. Say what you want but Percy would win against a fight with Nico. Just saying. We've seen Nico and his power to the fullest. But we haven't even see half of Percy's power.

Also. Unpopular opinion, I know.

But Nico really didn't have that much trama (Before The red pit), I get being gay made him feel weird, Or something like that. But the greeks are KNOWN for their gayness. Like, How are you going to say 'I didn't feel like anyone would accept me because I'm gay' when you are greek and greeks are the more LGBTQ+ friendly myths ever? I love Bianca but that girl was a brat. She felt her brother be with a gang of girls she hardly knew. her BROTHER, her only FAMILY. Like, Why? and Nico isn't the only one to lose his mom, Frank, Thalia, Jason, Hazel. I could go on.

While Percy went through abuse, From his stepfather, and teachers, Physically and verbally from Gabe, and mentally from the teachers because they told him he was stupid and such. He lost him, mother, in front of his own eyes, Was fight some kind of monster in the middle of the night, went to the underworld, and back multiple times. Lost so many people. held up the sky, Got blown up twice. fought in two wars, lost his memory, was trained by wolves. I could go on.

Annabeth was (also) verbally and mentally abused by her step mother and her father, she ran away when she was 7 (7, If someone so young knew that they were in an unsafe environment, then how bad was it?) she then went on to find two people she trusted, Lost one of those people in front of her eyes, went to the underworld and back multiple times. Lost so many people. Held up the sky. Was groomed by a 23-year-old man (Luke), fought in two wars. again, I could go on.

Do you see what I mean? I love Nico. But I just think he was a bit overdramatic when it came to the whole rejection thing. Like it's one person. Get rejected by them? BIg deal. Go kill some monster and get over it. No, I'm not trying to be toxic.

P.S: No olympian god (Expect maybe Posidan) openly showed affection. Hades is the death god. Did y'all assume he would?

Percabeth annoys the hell out of me. Percy and Annabeth apart is cool.
