In June, we will read TIME AND AGAIN, an all time favorite by one of my favorite authors, Jack Finney. I do believe that it was this book that got me hooked on the time travel genre in the first place. A couple of years ago, there was rumor that it was going to be made into a film by Doug Liman, but it sadly hasn’t materialized yet. DIVERSIONS
Howard Loring has sworn for ages that he’s been working on repairing his time travel machine. It seems he’s abandoned it in favor of a TIME TRAVEL BUS. (video)

If you can’t manage to catch a ride in Howard’s bus but are in the UK, you can perhaps catch a ride to the past, present, or future in the DELOREAN TIME MACHINE FOR HIRE.

However, if you do go for a spin in time travel bus or the DeLorean, take careful note of ALL THE WAYS YOU CAN SCREW UP YOUR OWN TIMELINE.

If you want to find some peers in your time travel journeys, you’ll also want to make a note of ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WERE FROZEN AND WOKE UP IN THE FUTURE. I think my favorite is still Link from Encino Man. Who is yours?

Can you use these TIME TRAVEL MOVIE GRAPHS alone to guess the time travel movies they depict? If it weren’t multiple choice, I’d have no hope. But it’s not nearly as difficult as you’d think.

In a world where you can make a time travel movie for your graduate thesis, Rick Kennedy has done just that with his film THE HISTORY OF TIME TRAVEL.

TELEVISION
If you’ve not been watching COSMOS, you’ve missed the episode where they explain how our view of the cosmos is an exercise in time travel and where the Spaceship of the Imagination does a bit of time travelling and black hole hopping: “A SKY FULL OF GHOSTS” (Season 1, Episode 4). Link expires June 1, 2014.

12 MONKEYS is officially being rebirthed on SyFy as a television series in January of 2015 (now that SyFy has decided that perhaps wrestling and reality television isn’t its calling after all). This is exciting news for those who enjoy both time travel and post-apocalyptic fiction because the series promises both.
