Discuss the book here!

The question to think about is:

At one point in the book, Juliette comes to the conclusion that she is no longer the person she was, when she first met Adam - the Juliette readers got to know in Book #1, Shatter Me.

Do you think this is true? And if so why, and do you think this change was for the better, or for the worst?

Explain with reference to the book/series.

Feel free to extend the discussion beyond the questions and simply talk about the book as well :D

The change was for the better

Kristina I think for Juliette's changes were needed. I prefer Adam over Warner, but Whatever.

She needed to be stronger and more confident to save lives and herself. She became someone others looked up to and relied on.

But I would have like to have had her end up with Adam. (did I say that already)

Adam becomes a jerk in this book, plus I always preferred warner. Since Juliette broke up with Adam she became stronger and powerful. Though Kenji is still my favorite character, and I wish he was real.

Hayley Hall (amber200016) | 9 comments That conclusion was SO NEEDED! I remember in Shatter Me Juliette was so ...dumb, I mean she was tolerable, but really annoying with her self-pity. Constantly WANTS Adam, is obsessed with how Warner is a monster, & how much her powers suck. In Unravel Me however SO.NOT.COOL.She wants BOTH of them. It`s like a game,Adam I love you, but Warner is SOOO HOT! I`m heartbroken we broke up, & I`ll always love you,but I MUST make-out with Warner. I MUST ruin things with him too. Honestly if Juliette acted anything other then she did, I wouldn`t even finish the book. I am so seriously, Girl you had issues.

I honestly 100% believe that Adam and Juliette would never have lasted. I think Juliette only loved Adam because she was ultimately the first nice boy she set her eyes on in a while and he could touch her. She thought it was love, I don't think it was.

In the 2nd book, I was quite happy that she realised there are other boys out there and not just Adam.

The person you love should allow you to make the choices you want and live your life the way you want to. They shouldn't shield you from your life choices. That's why I like Warner with Juliette rather than Adam.

I think it's true. The change was definitely for the better. With Adam, Juliette was shy and always dependent on Adam. He really hampered her growth. With Warner, Juliette learned to be independent, vocal, and to fight for what she wants. She's stronger and more confident now too!
