Personal Goals

Goal 1: read the 12 books that are part of Anthony Powell's A Dance to the Music of Time, Complete Set: 1st Movement, 2nd Movement, 3rd Movement, 4th Movement. One book per month. ••• REACHED!

Goal 2: read predominantly books I currently own

Goal 3: chip away at Boxall's 1000 ••• REACHED!

Goal 4: create a plan each month and read at least half of the books on it. ••• REACHED!

*** I strayed from the plan to focus on books I own. Although, I did read some... Many of those were rereads. However I read so many terrific books this year that I feel the year was a huge success.

Gone With The Wind was fabulous! Margaret Mitchell did a phenomenal job of capturing life in the South before, during and after the war. In fact, I think "The South" is the true main character, it's beauty and its ugliness.

I saw the movie such a long time ago that it's hard to compare. But I'd definitely say that the book was a much richer experience.
