Albina Nahar | 1 comments Hello. I am currently working on a book with some scenes aboard a US Navy warship (Wasp Class). Can anyone recommend some good reference or technical books relating to shipboard life, operations etc? Thanks for your insights.

Your first move might be to try the U.S. Govt Printing Office. This agency has always released such technical/military information free to the public (much to the astonishment of agents around the world). I'd guess these days there may be tighter filtering and screening over what exactly gets released, but if history is anything to go by, (bureaucracies rarely change) there's probably still a lot which would be useful to the layperson.

If you are talking about the WW2 era USS WASP aircraft carrier, then a good bet in terms of technical description and history would be Norman Friedman's iconic U.S. Aircraft Carriers: An Illustrated Design History.
