Yes, let's watch together! I love these characters so so much, I can't wait to explore it with an eye tuned more for details. The first time I was binge watching because I just had to know what would happen.
I want to say Air because it's my favorite but I'm also afraid of heights so like a little part of my brain is like, "liar." I think what matches most me in real life would be Earth or Fire. You???

I started this rewatch last night right before bed so I only watched one episode, The Boy in the Iceberg. I cannot even tell you all how much warm fuzzies to be with these characters again. I love them all so much. Seeing the Zuko and Iroh scenes are even so different. I LOVE Iroh to pieces, but it took me about half way through the series to realize that I did. Now, I get to love him from the start.
On the topic of loving characters, Katara is a BAMF. She's the one that leads the way on everything, brave enough to smash Aang out of the ice and she's the one who catches him as he emerges and all that. What a girl.
So, yeah. I think I'll marathon another handful today because these are SO EASY to get through and I'm excited to be watching again. :)

This rewatch is going so much slower than I want it to, because WHAT IS TIME.
But, I have watched The Avatar Returns, The Southern Air Temple, The Warriors of Kyoshi and The King of Omashu.
- I love to see the fight scenes because they are choreographed so well. I don't know if that's weird to say about a cartoon, BUT THERE YOU GO. Mostly, I want Aang's flyer.
- The Southern Air Temple made me realize how many non-traditional family structures this show highlights. Aang was being raised in community by the monks, Katara and Sokka are being raised by their grandmother, Zuko is being raised by his uncle. And then, of course, this is the episode where we see Aang enter the Avatar state when he's lost in grief over the loss of his entire people. Katara and Sokka manage to get him out of it by telling him that they have each other. Thus cements this found family that will carry us through the rest of the adventures, and pick up another addition or two.
- The thing about Aang is that he's both a little kid and the hero. He's riding elephant koi in The Warriors of Kyoshi, but also saving a village, even though it was his presence that brought them into harm. The other thing about Aang, though, is that he maintains a strong sense of identity and wonder throughout everything he goes through. Bless him.
- I couldn't stop giggling over the feminism in The Warriors of Kyoshi. This show.
- Bumi is weird as hell, y'all.
- I'm finding that the thing I've viewing the most different is Zuko because I know how his story ends. I started LOVING Iroh about halfway through the series the first time around, but now I'm like, "yes, all the jokes about tea please you excellent man."

This is a very casual and relaxed rewatch. There is no watching schedule. Get to it when you can and come on over to discuss as you can.
Please start every post with the episode through which you have watched. That way people know if it's safe to read without fear of spoilers.
If you have any questions, let me know!
