I personally always use Christmas as a way of getting books I've wanted for ages!

Did you guys get any books this holiday season? Anything you were surprised with?

(And a happy holidays to everyone!)

I bought myself a Kindle copy of Ulysses by James Joyce with the Audible version but so far I haven't been able to get it to load.

My boyfriend gave me the Italian version of Station Eleven as a present. I look forward to reading it!

I didn't get any books for Christmas but I did get gift cards for my favourite book store. I will be spending some time this weekend to pick out all of my new books!

I did not receive any traditional books, but did get an Amazon giftcard. Also, I bought myself an ebook copy of The Snow Child since it was on sale yesterday and my library does not have it.

Finally loaded. Woohoo!

I got some adult coloring books, two graphic novels: Mangaman and Neil Gaiman's Harlequin Valentine and two Christian books Emissary and Aquifer with the book 13 Days of Midnight . also got a barnes and noble gift card and a new tablet, markers and stuff so had a good Christmas

I did not get any books for Christmas. I had a 4 set Daphne du Maurier book on my wish list, but was told I could order that one myself. Did not get an Amazon card either. I gave myself an early Christmas present. I downloaded the complete works of Anthony Trollope and Margaret Oliphant.

I finally got my hands on The Girl on the Train and i'm so excited to start reading it. I also got an Amazon voucher that i'm 95% sure will be spent on books in the very near future.

Didn't get any books as such but did get Amazon vouchers which were all spent on Kindle books.

In December I got Het oude Frankrijk and 2 cookbooks: one with vegetarian receipes, the other Mexican.

Yes! I got Pastoralia by George Saunders, The Rum Diaries by Hunter S. Thompson, Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey, and Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson from my dad. My mom got me the Penguin hardback edition of Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven: Tales & Poems with the Guillermo del Toro introduction.

My parents really hit it out of the park this year.

I got _Don't Think of An Elephant_ and _My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry_ from my sister and BIL. I bought myself a few books with Christmas money, including _What You Should Know About Politics But Don't_ and _The Thirteen American Arguments_. (I also got a sweet book-themed tea mug and a variety of tea from my parents, which will make my reading afternoons even better!)

I'm also getting some great ideas for new books for my wishlist, from the books you're all mentioning!

I love getting books as gifts. It's like, "Yes! You were paying attention!"

I love getting books for Christmas! I got a kindle voucher so I've gone a little crazy with the download butting. I'm currently reading How To Be A Woman by Caitlin Moran. A bit slow but decent content ☺️

I only received one book for Christmas but it wasn't a surprise. My cousin got me a Percy Jackson book every year for the last couple Christmas so I wasn't surprised when she gave me the new Magnus Chase book. I also ordered a couple books for myself but they won't be here until March so it'll be more like a birthday present. :)

I got the narnia series. Its my favourite

I got a C.S. Lewis book that contains many of his novels.

I got a book filled with horror stories from my parents.
