This folder is for books that are considered to be classics.

Bonus - many of them are short! But some of them are also rather long(winded).

Please share your suggestions, or any resources you've used to help find your book for this category in this thread.

The Hobbit
Wuthering Heights
Little Women
The Chronicles of Narnia

Kathy 1001 Books to Read Before You Die list is a good source for me. It has many more modern classics. I really have a hard time with the oldies.

Valerie | 280 comments I have a collection of Mark Twain books, and I have been meaning to read through it this year. So, there are a lot I can choose from in that anthology.

abhishek | 1 comments Read Wuthering Heights for this category. Found it quite heavy, dark and morose but charming in an odd way.

Sure! I think so anyway.

message 13: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teremazon) I am a bit confused, I thought the category was "a classic of the 20th century" that's what I wrote when I first copied the categories. I am still going to make it so, and I will be reading The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers because I have never read any of her books, and the title always has captured my attention.

message 14: by Mary Sue (new)

Mary Sue Just finished The Pilgrim's Progress for this task. I was a difficult read for me, but I did enjoy it more than I thought I would.

I loved this book when I read it during high school. I think it will be my reread choice this year. Does that make me a classic?
