What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hi! The book I'm looking for is about a young girl who has lived with both her parents on earth, until one day she find out her mom is human and her dad is actually from another world. Her dad is important because he can help people travel between worlds- for some reason this is dangerous because there are storms that happen when you travel. (I remember something about finding different colored strings and that's how you knew what world to go to. )

The heroine (while on earth) had multiple dreams about a guy where they would talk and it was in a beautiful place. When her father says they have to leave earth and go back to his family on his world things get dangerous. I believe the heroine is important (due to the fact she is the only girl that can travel between worlds without help?) Anyway, I believe she is at a safe house meeting her fathers friend and the friends son comes to help-low and behold it's the boy from her dreams. Turns out they are soul mates (and I believe the sons father tried to keep them apart)

That's all I got. Please help, this is driving me bonkers!

Valerie! Thank you for responding. It is really driving me crazy. It isn't Flutter- although you are right it sounds similar. I can't help with the cover but I can go into more detail that I remember. I am thinking I read it a couple years ago.

I remember that when they get to her father's world she meets her grandparents and I believe her sister-in-law and she meets her little niece. The grandparents are kind of the leaders of their land. They even have a welcome home dance/ celebration for her and her family. Everyone has their own house but they are walking distance away.

Her soul mate is there with her and together they discover that they can do unique magic. I remember a scene where they can travel together while they sleep (kind of like an outer body experience) they realize they can use this to spy on the enemy (which I can't remember anything about). If I remember right, she can't be away from her soul mate for long or it physically hurts her.

I also remember that when she travels in this portal between world big lightning storms happen so people have to be careful traveling through them. That is why they have certain people who have that particular magic help them- her father and soul mate both are really good at it I think?

Oh and there is this scene with the niece where she knows a certain type of flower will heal someone that is hurt or sick. (Random but I just remembered that part)

I thought I read it a couple years ago... Does that line up with when you read it? I can't even remember the cover or a main characters name! You got anything to add to the description?

Oh! And do you remember if she had a brother? I feel like I remember them being separated and then she meets him again when she figures all this out.
