Its still an increase from 2015.
and unlike Aaron I am a sloooow reader.

Perhaps when I read more and more I will speed up. That would be useful.

I find that its a reading rate similar to a fine thick honey.

Am saying 100 but, frankly, it's likely to be more.
There are weeks when I get through 2 books a day but also weeks when I only manage that - or less - in a week. Depends on how busy my life is! X

HAHAHA OH MY GOD!!!!!

Well that's my motto for this year, hahahaha!
I have set my goal here on Goodreads for 35, I study, which means I won't have as much time, but I'm secretly hoping it will be a lot more.
I also have the problem of re-reading books, in which case they don't count as read this year so :P

I think the biggest problem, for me, will be selecting books. I'm picky, so even when I find something I like tremendously, I won't necessarily like similar books. It's hard deciding on books at random from various lists!

If you like fantasy stories you should try Throne of Glass. Its my new most favorite.
@Anny what books do you usually re-read?
I am aiming for 200. It might be a lot, but I read 5 to 6 books a week because I can read fast.

Right now I'm in the process of re-reading the Harry Potter books because of unknown reasons ;) Next I think will be Fahrenheit 451, it's been a LONG time.
Do people ususally re-read things, or is it just me?

Erin, I have the exact same problem with picking books, actually I I love one book, I'm even LESS likely to like similar ones because I compare them. My standards are set very high and I ofen go "oh I should read this book because everyone says it's good" and then read the first part and go "this is not as good as this other book I loved". It's a problem, really.

:)
One a week is a good goal! Maybe 2017 I'll have that goal

Exactly! Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is my favourite book, but for the life of me I cannot find anything that can give me the same sense of atmosphere and immersion. I hear about The Night Circus, Darker Shade of Magic, etc., and I'm just like ehhhhhhhhh... it makes it difficult to get invested!

I enjoyed the Night Circus, but I haven't read Jonathan Strange (had it on my To Reads list FOREVER though), maybe I should give it a try and see if it works the opposite way too :P
I think I might just not be a genre person, I love certain books, but there is NO guarantee I will love a fantasy book just because I'm a fan of Lord of the Rings.
Which is sad!

thanks Taylor...
i was wondering why this group never has events...
wouldnt it be really cool if we organized that the whole group has a readathon/all just read for an hour ?
I would really enjoy it as im trying to make more goodreads friends

i just posted my idea

thanks should i figure out the time for different time zones?

it would be good to have everyone reading at the same time tho

i will just put in the details that its 0.00 GMT and to change it to your timezone if your outside of that

can we make a thread so we dont clog up this one

Yeah we're kinda steering off topic, I'll create one now.

okay thanks
