Happy new year to all! Anyone make any New Year's resolves that involve yoga?

I plan to resume my first morning yoga meditation. I still meditate in the afternoon but there's nothing like starting out first thing to really get your mind going right.

XOXOXO to all!

Yes! I had done it for years, but got away from the habit. Am happy to be back.

Karissa (swansonkl) | 31 comments How long do you take for your meditations? Do you use an alarm or music or guided meditation?

I do 20 minutes in the morning. I set my phone to chime at that time. I like silence, not music or guided meditations, but it's definitely a personal preference which works best to focus the mind.

Amber Polo (amberpolo) Look into Insight Timer, a great app from iTunes or Google Play. https://insighttimer.com/
You can set if for only a wakeup or add bells. It also has access to man guided meditations.
And take it wherever you go.

Thanks Meryl! I think silence would probably work best for me as well, I'll give it a go.

Jumping back to the thread I meant to be one (Yogic New Years Resolutions!). Thank you for the harmonium info, Linda. I am glad to know that buying one is not cost prohibitive! I play the flute, so I have a bit of musical background—no piano though. One of our members emailed me offline about someone local to me (Houston) who has harmonium experience, so that may help too. I did start listening to Richard Freeman's Sanskrit chant download yesterday (via Sounds True) in hopes of accomplishing my other yogic resolution of being able to chant more in Sanskrit. So far, I love it!
