I've ordered the box set of Infernal Devices after checking out the reviews. I can't wait to read them!
I'm not sure why Cassandra Clare's books have peaked my interest lately. I have so many books I need to read. The last thing I need to do is start a new YA series. Still, I remember being a bit confused when I tried reading Clockwork Angel, so I put it down after 100 pages or so and haven't come back. I see that the ebook of City of Bones is available on iTunes for $2.99 currently (I think it's the same on Amazon.com, and $9.99 on Kobo.com). Even though I have a fairly tight TBR for the next few months, there's just something about The Mortal Instruments calling my name. I too, Charlotte, was not a fan of the movie, but I think that's because I was confused because I hadn't read the book. (I felt the same way about Divergent.) I think I'm going to swing on over to iTunes and snag it while it's cheap.

Having read the Infernal Devices trilogy I would recommend sticking with it. I've heard that it's a lot better than the Mortal Instruments series, though I haven't started them yet. I found that the steampunk aspects and the world was a lot more interesting than what I know of City of Bones
I think I went in to the Infernal Devices thinking I had to know the Mortal Instruments or I wouldn't have understood it, so I kept thinking I was missing something, like I was on the outside of some inside joke. In other words, I just psyched myself out. I confused myself in to thinking I was confused. Either way, I did pick up City of Bones. We'll see how it goes.

Everyone has different tastes I suppose. I think that's why I like the Clockwork trilogy but can't get into the bigger series. I prefer the historical aspects to the Infernal Devices and the setting =)

I was just wondering if anyone in this group has read any Cassandra Clare books?
I took part in a Cassandra Clare readathon and ended up reading Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince in a week! I absolutely loved them and have gone straight onto the third in the trilogy...I've not been able to get into the Mortal Instruments series though I've seen the film (I didn't really like it and that's probably what's putting me off the books) but I'm loving the Infernal Devices so far =)
